Empowerment through Self Psychological Counseling, LLC provides counseling to children, adolescents and adults. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), fostering strategies for self-realization. In this way counseling becomes an assisting process, rather than dependency association. I strive for the client to find their own way, but at the same time I recognize when direction, guidance, and information are needed. The therapeutic relationship that I develop with the client is our foundation from which to build.

As a licensed clinical psychologist, I provide individual therapy to older adolescents, adults and seniors. Working from a psychodynamic framework, I specialize in helping people dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, relationship difficulties and life transitions. I am flexible in my approach to psychotherapy and adjust my ways of working to meet the needs of each unique individual. In the context of a therapeutic relationship based on respect, empathy and collaboration, my goal as a therapist is to understand the unique set of problems, experiences and goals of those seeking help.

As a practitioner of many holistic modalities, such as EMDR, Thought Field Therapy and Energy Psychology, I can assist my clients in achieving a decrease in anxiety, adjusting to a changing situation, depression or trauma symptoms. I work with people of all ages. It is very important to me that my clients are treated as the most important member of their treatment team. Their goals set the tone and focus. As a practitioner of EMDR since 2001, I have assisted in helping many of my clients find relief from symptoms resistant to other therapies.

I use methods that examine the root causes of behavioral and emotional patterns which lead to depression, anxiety, alcohol dependence, substance abuse, thought distortions, relationship attachments, erectile dysfunction, or vaginal anesthesia. Where medication is ineffective, intensive therapy sessions have the power to change the paralyzing state of our psychological and physical condition. The causes may be situational, easily detected, but others may be deeper, stored in our rigidified muscles, buried in the remote recess of our minds.
