Dr. Jolene Arasz is an adolescent and family licensed psychologist with extensive experience working with adolescents, adults and families. Author of the book, Why On Earth Do I Feel This Way: Understanding anxiety and mental health through control theory, Dr. Arasz incorporates her own theory with a neuropsychological perspective to educate and treat her clients' array of mental health issues. Dr. Arasz consults with schools, providing mental health education to students (K-college), teachers and parents. She brings science to her practice, resulting in immediate and sustainable mental health management.

Often people struggle to manage their intense emotions and have difficulty with relationships and managing life issues. I work with individuals, couples, and families to help reduce overall distress, develop more effective communication, and build or improve relationships. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through Behavioral Tech, and identify targets and teach skills to reduce stress and intense emotions to maintain balance and build a life worth living, and use a DBT-informed approach to treatment.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in full-time private practice. I have had post-doctoral training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and have received certification in medical hypnosis. I work with a diverse patient caseload, dealing with the spectrum of anxiety disorders (panic, generalized anxiety, OCD), as well as depressive disorders, and stress-related conditions, including psychsomatic problems such as back pain. I also work extensively with patients with relationship issues, in both individual and couple therapy settings. I am also available for psychological testing, including intelligence and personality testing. In addition, I provide training in mindfulness and marital communication skills.
