Have you ever felt like Alice tumbling down the dark rabbit hole of your life, only to land in the dizzyingly confusing and often frightening landscape of Wonderland? Can you identify with Alice, swallowing the wrong pill and shrinking to the size of a toadstool in a land of giants? Do you feel small and insignificant among the rest of the world? Are the White Rabbit's hole and the temptation to keep plunging further into darkness tempting you? DO YOU KNOW THERE IS A WAY OUT?

Throughout my many years serving a young adult/adult population, I have gained a great respect for working collaboratively with each client to understand the most effective approach for the individual. My approach involves providing a nonjudgmental therapeutic environment in which we can gain a greater awareness of the individual's unique concerns and work from this awareness to affect change in the present.

Therapy for individuals, couples, or families should be a safe space to explore personal needs and goals. Using a broad lens we consider all of the factors and systems as we work collaboratively and with transparency towards strengthening your sense of yourself and the relationships that are impacting you. We consider cycles of interaction as well as vulnerabilities and survival strategies and areas where you may be getting stuck in long repetitive cycles. Together we identify new strategies and strengths to create new experiences. Therapy can be a strengthening journey of opportunity and growth.

I am dedicated to working with clients whose personality and life experience were shaped by more than one culture: You might be an international student or in your 20's or 30's navigating anxiety. You might have been raised by 1st generation Asian parents or one and half or 2nd generation immigrants. You might be struggling in a relationship where you and your partner come from different cultural backgrounds not feeling understood. You are in the relationship but you both feel alone in the relationship. I love to help. I work with clients individually and as couples.

Given many stressors of modern life and demand to always be on top of our game, many of us are overwhelmed, suffering from unwanted emotions and feeling trapped in our circumstances. I offer supportive environment and goal-directed, biologically valid and clinically proven therapeutic approaches to help my clients re-establish healthy and functional relationship with their emotions, problem-solve through their circumstances and become "un-stuck" in their lives. In my practice, I combine elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, existential and biological/evolutionary perspectives.

There is a lot that pulls you in a thousand directions as a mom. You're expected to run a seamless household, support your family, spend time with friends, and look good while doing it all. Advice from family and friends doesn't help much, and instead it leaves you more confused. Your older family members suggest parenting with a heavy hand how you were raised, but that doesn't feel good to you, or your kids. You wonder... how is it that other mothers seem to have it all together? You can allow motherhood to take over your well-being, or you can get support from a licensed therapist - who looks like you and totally gets it.

I believe we all need unconditional support and compassionate understanding in navigating through life's unpredictable journey. I promote an empathic and positive therapeutic relationship between client and clinician that is respectful of the client's strengths and right to self-determination and encourages healing, self-awareness, and self-care. I also challenge the client to think out-of-the-box and explore the possibilities for growth and change in one's own thinking and circumstances. I am culturally sensitive and tailor therapy to the individual needs of the client as there is no one-size-fits-all therapeutic modality.
