Welcome to First Children! We are a multi-site psychological, counseling, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) center serving children, adolescents, and young adults with autism and their families. At our STRIVE centers, we provide comprehensive autism services to our clients, including early screening and diagnostic testing (using the ADOS-2), ABA, behavioral parent training, and individual and group counseling. Our services also include sibling support groups, family counseling, social skills groups, and school consultation.

Extracare Health Services is an outpatient drug and alcohol counseling center offering individualized outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for adolescents, adults and their families. Via a Cognitive/Behavioral approach to treatment, there is a strong emphasis on building self-esteem in our clients and empowering them to take effective control of their lives. Since addiction is an illness that impacts all aspects of a person's life, we provide a holistic and comprehensive treatment program that includes, individual and group counseling, family education and urine-testing. Dr. Couvadelli is an adult and pediatric Neuropsychologist/Psychologist with areas of expertise in clinical neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation and health psychology. Dr. Couvadelli obtained her PhD in Behavioral Medicine with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience. She completed an internship in clinical psychology/neuropsychology, a fellowship in cognitive rehabilitation, and a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology. Dr. Couvadelli has served as the head of Pediatric Neuropsychology at JFK Medical Center, NJ and she holds the appointment of Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Seton Hall University School of Health/Medical Sciences.

I began practicing in Maryland in 1978. I resumed practicing in New York in 2004 and added an office in New Jersey in 2013. My practice covers a broad age range from 2-90. I am most comfortable treating adults with a variety of mental health issues. I also see couples and do family therapy. In addition, I have done play therapy with children. I am also comfortable conducting psychological evaluations of children ranging in age from a year to 21 years. I am an expert in developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders.
