My approach is humanistic and existential. I focus on the individual, not on categorizations or labels. I tailor each treatment plan to meet the individual and unique needs of every single client. I help clients to become more self-aware and to understand what he or she might be needing/wanting. My intention is to help clients concentrate on the here and now while offering empathy, understanding, and compassion. By creating a supportive environment, it is my belief that individuals will feel safe and welcomed. I believe in creating a space that allows for open communication without the fear of judgement.

In working with clients, existential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and reality therapy are my main models of choice.
My goal is to provide a safe space to openly explore barriers that can prevent my clients from maintaining lasting joy in their lives. Inner beliefs, past experiences, and unhealthy relationships are often a central issue we face in learning to live as our whole selves, fully accepted and fully loved. My mission is to help my clients find wholeness and know their inherent worth. I have worked with children, families, gerontology, hospital social work, substance abuse recovery, and hospice. As well as teenage girls, as they navigate healing concerns such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, learning disabilities, and self-esteem.

I am passionate about helping couples, adults, and teens overcome anxiety, depression, life transitions, school challenges, OCD, trauma, and sobriety / recovery. I want you to be your unapologetic self and we'll start with your goals and hopes for therapy. Then we'll try approaches like mindfulness, combating negative thoughts and beliefs, interpersonal effectiveness, and existential therapy to understand your patterns, accept the things we cannot change, use your strengths, and grow in the ways you want to grow. I work with couples and co-parents too. See if I'm accepting new clients and book online at www.resolutioncc.com/team

See if I’m accepting clients at www.resolutioncc.com/team.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
