I enjoy working with young adults and older adults, but I'm not limited to these populations. My ideal client is at a place of feeling "stuck" in their life. Whether that be a career transition, deciding on a college major, feeling lost in a relationship, or a new onset of symptoms. I am also comfortable with helping individuals unpack their past to understand their current habits. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a License Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). I specialize in treating individuals and couples who are struggling to make changes in their lives. When working with couples I create a safe place where each person feels safe and heard. I assist the couple with conflict resolution, infidelity, and rebuilding trust. I help my clients realize that what they have experienced in life does not define who they are as a person. The client aims to get past her anger with her father for abandoning her mother and his kids. She wants to learn to love herself and see and acknowledge her strengths instead of focusing on her weaknesses. She wants to work on coping skills for her anxiety, and hopefully, it will help her get through the days with better clarity and help her sleep better.

My ideal client would most likely be a female teenager working through peer relationships, self-esteem, and social anxiety. With this client, I believe some of her needs would be to explore core beliefs of who she is in comparison to what others may say/think of her, cognitively challenging and reframing intrusive/negative thought patterns, and slowly expose the client to social scenarios in which she can use her coping skills to effectively navigate new situations.

My ideal client struggles with an eating disorder along with co-occurring anxiety and depression. They need an empathetic listener who also challenges their cognitive distortions and is willing to do exposures with them. Their goals would be to live a life they desire, not what others want. My ideal client wants to receive help despite possible trust issues and uncertainty about the mental health system.

All clients have their own unique, individual experiences that, while may overlap with others, are still inherently their own. I truly wish to help these individuals navigate whatever issues they are presenting with, which tend to be far from ideal.
