With nearly 10 years of experience working in the mental health field, at Deeper Meaning Counseling, we've learned just how important mental, emotional, and spiritual health is. Life is hard, but our management of it is what determines the level of difficulty we experience.

Arlene earned her Bachelor's of Arts degree at Bloomfield College in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. She then obtained her Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology and Counseling at Saint Elizabeth University. After receiving her Master's degree, she decided to further her education and pursue two post graduate certifications at Montclair State University in Alcohol and Drug Counseling and Advanced Counseling. Arlene believes that having a collaborative, strong therapeutic relationship brings positive therapy outcomes.

Amina Ellrott is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is board certified and has been practicing since 2019. She graduated from Montclair State University with a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Amina also has a masters degree in School Psychology from Rowan University. Amina believes that the counselor-client relationship is the cornerstone to treatment success. She takes the time to learn about clients from each of their unique experiences with the understanding that it is critical to recognize how their identities have shaped the way they see the world.

Lakeesha D. Conyers is a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey who has been practicing since 2024. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Jersey City University, along with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Lakeesha helps clients process pressing issues by exploring their thoughts by asking questions that are not normally asked. She leads with gentleness, kindness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Lakeesha has a strong background in higher education and offers skills relatable to assist young adults with figuring out the next step for life and career choices.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies from Stockton University in 2016; however, after working at my University’s counseling center for four years, I decided to follow my passion for the helping professions and pursue a career as a therapist. I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling with a concentration in clinical mental health from Montclair State University in 2019, and became licensed as an Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey shortly after.

Val Ventura is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey who has been practicing since 2013. She has a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and an MA in Clinical Psychology from William Paterson University. Val has an eclectic training background that allows her to create a person centered and goal-oriented treatment plan and adapt her therapeutic approach to fit the unique identity and needs of her patients to help them not only heal but thrive. Val has a history of working with children, adults, and families from all backgrounds.

Kardelen Dogan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey who has been practicing since 2021. She earned a Master's degree in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from University College London, UK, where she delved into the intricate facets of psychological development and psychoanalytic theories. Following her studies in the UK, she pursued further academic and practical expertise by completing a program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston Victoria, Texas.

My life mission in counseling is best reflected by my slogan "Inspiring Lives...Healing Hearts." My passion for the counseling profession motivated me to be the founder of the Counseling Care Center. The Center creates a safe and embracing environment that allows clients to explore their problems in a trustful, non-judgmental and empathic counseling relationship. My goal is to help my clients to believe in themselves, overcome self-destructive behavior and gain healthy skills so that they can live their lives in a harmonious, peaceful and productive way.

Accepting new clients! In life, we will all face obstacles. My goal as a therapist is to help you learn more about yourself and come up with ways to overcome these obstacles - ways that actually work. I utilize various modalities, but Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are the modalities I most frequently draw from. I believe that not all therapeutic modalities work for everybody, and as such, I adapt according to my clients' needs. I have experience working with children over 8, teenagers, and adults.
