Are you troubled and stressed in a relationship, but don't know how to change things? Do you say yes when you want to say no? Are you covering up your pain with destructive behaviors? Do you judge yourself harshly and feel you are just never good enough? Negative thoughts, anxiety and low self esteem can be an enormous burden, making it a crushing chore to just get through the day. They affect your relationships, your ability to work, and can lead to substance abuse, over-eating and other behaviors that can pull you into a downward spiral.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I know sometimes the journey to finding help may be bumpy. So give yourself some props for making it here. At times we all face struggles internal, external, and often a combination of both. I have observed that often we can feel stuck from these experiences, even if we’ve tried to move on from them. That is because we need a little guidance to process and repair the internal sense of disconnection that remains imprinted in our system. It is my hope to help facilitate a path towards increased sense of connection, finding more ease, feeling better, and move towards the life you want.

In my years of practice, I have worked successfully with individuals/couples/families who are coping with loss/ grief/transition issues, depression and anxiety, communication breakdowns, and the impact of chronic illness on family dynamics.
The journey through life's many transitions - successes and challenges, partnered and single, chronic illness and loss - and the feelings of anxiety, depression, fear that they evoke in us can cause us at times to feel alone and powerless. I would be honored to accompany you on your healing journey - whether your goal is to bring you closer to what you want personally or professionally, closer to those you love, or back to yourself - and I will work with you, at your pace, in a safe, nurturing environment. Even when we have tremendous anxiety and pain, the strength and resilience we desire already reside within us. During times of stress, grief or uncertainty, it is common to forget this and to adopt maladaptive styles of coping and communicating that tend to deepen our distress. Sometimes we fall back into negative thinking based on faulty core beliefs about ourselves and the world. I will hold space for you with empathy and non-judgment. You will be seen, you will be heard, and you will be supported in your growth.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages and diversity in navigating challenges with life transitions, depression, anxiety, substance use, interpersonal relations, grief/ loss, trauma and cultural issues.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said: “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” I'm led by my resolute beliefs in an individual's resiliency to overcome life trials and thrive in the face of adversity when provided with the right environment, tools and resources. I take pride in building a therapeutic relationship with you that feels validating, empowering, mutually transparent and compassionately confrontational. Being a bicultural individual has inspired me to remain open, inquisitive and adaptable to distinctive personal values and ways of life.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
