I have a passion to help people overcome trials of life, go in the direction of grace and acceptance, and come to terms with their shortcomings without feeling condemnation. My aim is to help people learn how to be hospitable rather than exist in a state of hostility or loneliness. While we cannot change difficult situations of our past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the resulting challenges in our life. We all share a common need to express emotions and learn new ways to cope effectively.

Do not underestimate the mind-body connection. A mind distraught is a body at risk. Psychological unease affects all aspects of our lives, as well as the lives of those nearest to us. Though our predicaments can often feel hopeless, and seeking relief can feel futile, psychotherapy proves daily that, in the care of a specialist, an altered perspective can offer life-changing insight, as well as the development of healthy and effective coping strategies to deal with a multitude of challenges.

I am offering 90 minute sessions to discuss feelings and stressors related to the election at a discounted rate. From the outside, you seem to have it all together. Inwardly though, things feel complicated and painful and sometimes overwhelming. Everyone else seems to just move through life so easily, but you don't feel like you ever will. Relationships are hard, self-acceptance is hard, memories are often more painful than you can manage. I help adults with childhood and complex trauma accept their past and learn to love themselves regardless of what they were taught to believe about themselves. I'm so glad you're here.

My clients are dedicated athletes grappling with eating disorders or OCD, facing the dual challenges of their mental health and a desire to perform at their peak. They are often overwhelmed by the demands of their sport, which can blur the lines between passion and harmful habits. Their primary goal is to reclaim their lives and their love for their sport, seeking not just recovery, but transformation—an opportunity to realign their beliefs and values towards a healthier, more balanced existence. They crave empowerment, resilience, and the ability to thrive both in their athletic pursuits and personal lives.

My ideal client is mid 30's to early 60's. These are people in life transitions, whether career, relationship or soul searching. Probably experiencing stress and anxiety or self doubt. Want to follow their hearts, interests and talents so that they can fulfill themselves in life, love, work and relationships. They want to modify or completely change careers, friends or leave an unrewarding relationship. They're looking for help in growing beyond an impasse while wanting to develop to the next level in their lives. They need compassion and clear but kind guidance to move forward.

The body and the mind have a powerful connection. How you feel affects how you think. Constant worrying can lead to headaches, high blood pressure, or other serious problems, while health problems can lead to stress, depression, and anxiety. Together we can combat these problems. From my therapy sessions, I provide people with a positive outlook on life in order to better handle mental health problems. I also provide stress-management techniques for individuals so they can understand the root of their problems and develop plans for life-long happiness.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
