Having worked in the mental health profession for over 25 years, I am a licensed mental health professional and owner of the Hicks Group Wellness Center. My primary work is with individuals suffering from domestic violence, traumas, anxiety, and depression. I am particular about whom I take as a client; my ideal client is ready for transformative change and motivated to do the therapeutic work that comes with counseling.

Most of my clients are people who have lost sight of how awesome they actually are whether that be due to some sort of trauma, a bad or unfulfilling relationship, a chronic illness, or a mental health disorder. They are people looking to make sense of their realities and to learn how to manage them. My clients are mostly adolescents and adults, but I will see children who are capable of handling the telehealth format.

Jane has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Prior to starting in the mental health field 6 years ago, Jane spent 27 years working in long term care and ran grief and loss and caregiver support groups. Jane also has experience working with the special needs population and has an adult son with Autism so she has personal experience advocating for this population and an understanding of the challenges faced by this population and their families.

The Center for Specialized Psychology (CSP) was founded by Dr. Nina Badaan Shinway in 2017, with a focus on helping female survivors of domestic violence and other trauma related experiences. CSP's mission is to promote healing and recovery for women who have experienced unfortunate life circumstances. CSP focuses on helping women heal, energize and become aware of their inner strengths. Treatment is provided via a range of theoretical approaches that are integrated and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual patient. This eclectic approach fosters maximum potential for personal growth and evolution.

Cognitive Change has been providing excellent service to each individual, couple, and family for over 12 years through the use of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for all ages. Our clients include all cultural, racial, gender, and economic backgrounds. All our therapists are either certified in CBT, TEAM-CBT, or DBT and are supervised by a certified CBT therapist. We work with co-dependency, anger, OCD, phobias, panic disorders, PTSD & trauma. Paul Santasieri is a Licensed Professional Counselor certified in individual and marriage and family therapy, with over 25 years experience in the field. Paul graduated from The College of NJ with a Masters in Counseling. Prior to coming to Pathways, Paul was a full time Lecturer in Psychology at Ocean County College. Prior to that, Paul was the Supervisor of Student Personnel Services at Colts Neck High School. Paul specializes in all facets of therapy including, individual, marriage and family and an emphasis on adolescents.

I believe whatever problem you may be facing is solvable. I am passionate about helping people and I have been doing it for over 35 yrs. I have worked in private practice, inpatient and outpatient settings. I have experience in the most relevant evidenced based/best practices (cbt, dbt, MI, 12 Step/Harm Reduction, trauma informed, mindfulness ) One size does not fit all! I am compassionate, kind and non judgemental with a strong desire to help people achieve a life worth living. I provide a safe place and am committed to having an open and affirming practice for people of all races, religions, genders and sexualities.
