I am both a Grief Specialist and Psychotherapist. My goal for my clients is always" clarity and empowerment". I work interactively, compassionately, with depth, and often with humor. I work with a combination of heart intuition and practical experience. The CBT distorted thoughts that include thoughts like "should", "never, always", and "catastrophizing" can feed our anxiety. I can point to resources for relaxation tools. You may have noticed that new losses open up old grief and trauma.
It can be hard to find support for our Grief in a grief-denying culture where people don't want to talk about Grief and just want us to "get over it". I am a Clinical Grief therapist (Grief is the hundreds of feelings and changes that come from loss). I honor meaning-making and growth through our Grief. I have been exploring healthy Grief for 30 years.
I can listen. So often we don't feel heard. With Grief, often clients trust that "I get it" because I've experienced the death of a child. I know where we can get stuck in the guilt that comes with Grief, and how to navigate it. I also teach effective communication and parenting tools, lowering conflict and allowing connection.
