I feel honored to do this work and have much experience working succesfully with kids of all ages, parents and adults. Finding the right therapist is much like finding the right pair of jeans....you want to make sure they fit well. Every counselor will have his/her own style which may not feel comfortable for every person. I offer a multi-step evaluation process, before we agree to longer-term work. If my style of work isn't well- matched to your needs, I'll help you find someone else who is.
My clients describe my work with them as: focused, comforting, informed, practical, creative, hardworking, funny, serious, connected, and motivational. I have been a licensed therapist since 1991 and I use my vast experience to custom build the right approach for various challenges. I have a therapy dog who is hypoallergenic and small and calm.
I utilize strategies from the following modalities: CBT, psycho-dynamic insight oriented talk therapy, play therapy, environmental therapy (walk/talks in nature) , yoga, meditation, advocacy (with schools, doctors, etc), DBT-light, animal assisted therapy, and, art-based therapeutic interventions including: music, art and drama.
