Hello! I am currently an LPC A working under the supervision of Dr. Martinez. I have been a school counselor for 20 years. My experience as a school counselor has given me the opportunity to work with families and children ages 4-18. I have worked with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, or have experienced trauma. My experience includes helping children develop coping skills, social skills, emotional regulation, and improved self-esteem.
As a counselor, it is important for me to build a trust-based relationship and create a safe space for the client. I believe trust and safety must exist for a positive therapeutic experience. My therapeutic approach is eclectic; involving techniques (but not limited to) client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and art therapy.
I am passionate about helping others maintain mental wellness, finding a healthy balance, and feeling confident in who they are. Challenges are challenging. They cause frustration, stress, and self doubt. While challenges are difficult, they can be overcome, and I would love to support you as you choose to overcome what ever challenge you're facing.
