Figuring it out often feels like waiting for the world to pause so we can catch-up and the pieces finally fall together. As you well know, those pauses often are not long enough and can lack the kind of tools, insights, and support needed. We are then left asking, what else is there? I believe that these curiosities, feeling all that we do, is meant to connect us to our true self by learning to know ourselves in every way and love ourselves deeply. The journey of growth and healing involves the use of many different tools, a powerful one being the tool of therapy.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Certified in Psychiatric Recovery of Severe Mental Illness. I specialize in areas of attachment, self-exploration and identity, anxiety and depression, as well as grief, loss, and trauma. My approach is relational and psychodynamic.
Within our work together we will initially focus on stability and decreasing distressing symptoms that may have brought you to see me. We’ll explore ways you’ve managed similar emotions in the past and we’ll find new ways to support you. From there we’ll create goals for the future to work towards in our ongoing sessions.
