I offer individual counseling. Being human means that life is going to be difficult sometimes. We may need to explore different avenues for change. Current struggles may be due to a major life transition like a job loss, becoming a parent, a death in the family, or a new relationship, or they may be due to current unhealthy dynamics in existing relationships. Sometimes unresolved trauma is at play. Sometimes we just get "stuck in a rut" and can't seem to make any positive changes that would enable us to go in a different direction. Depression and anxiety can be our body's way of telling us that it is time for change.
I work with teens and adults in exploring their own thoughts, feelings and relationships to encourage personal growth and development of inner joy. Exploring current patterns of behavior that once served a very useful purpose but perhaps now inhibit growth leads to positive change.
My passion is helping others. I love working with teens and adults to help them find their own voice and strengthen their sense of self in order to create the life they want. I offer a safe and secure place to learn coping skills, explore feelings or heal childhood wounds especially through my training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy and EMDR.
