I want to help you better know, understand, and most importantly accept yourself. All too often we carry around with us hidden beliefs that we are not acceptable as we are. We say to ourselves: "If only I were better at..." "I am just a fraud..." "If anyone really knew who I was..." We feel that we should be a certain way first in order to be deserving of the relationships that we really want. My goal is to help you work through these unhelpful core beliefs and ultimately have a more full and fulfilling life.
Depending upon your needs, our focus together may be upon managing current issues and stressors and developing new ways of dealing with those stressors, or it may be working more deeply with your history and relational patterns, two things that oftentimes are the root of present-time pain.
I use many theoretical approaches to come to a combination that will work for you. Using CBT, mindfulness and experiential techniques, and drawing upon psychodynamic, relational, and attachment theories, my aim is to find a good fit for you to help you be more of who you want to be.
