I specialize in working with adult survivors of child abuse, grief, and trauma, but also have substantial experience working with various anxiety and depression issues. I primarily use mindfulness based therapy, but also take an individualized approach to each client. It is very important to me to work collaboratively with you so we can make therapy as useful and valuable to you as possible.
I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness and acceptance-based therapy. ACT has a considerable base of empirical research behind it and has been shown to be effective for a wide variety of issues. I also place emphasis on family of origin, relationships, and communication issues. I currently provide therapy 100% via telehealth.
There are many reasons to begin or return to therapy. Each person has their own reason and life story. It can be challenging to try to begin therapy sometimes, if for no other reason because of the adjustment in schedule. But in my experience over the past 12 years as a therapist, by far most people find it to be worth it. I think you will too.
