( ( ( Availability for neurodivergent coaching or mental health therapy. Looking for recently diagnosed/self-diagnosed Autistic/ADHD teens or adults ) ) ) I am a neurodivergent coach and therapist. This means that I am neurodivergent, but also that I work exclusively with neurodivergent people, from a neurodivergent perspective. Neurodivergent means "a brain that diverges from the norm," I use it to refer collectively to Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia – brains that are not ill or broken, but fundamentally wired differently than the average person. If this describes you, then you've come to the right place.
Our goal is no longer to be "normal." Our goal is to be happy! Let me help you: 1) Understand your unique brain and how it works 2) Forgive yourself for not meeting every expectation of a hostile neurotypical world 3) Set and work toward functional goals based on accommodating your specific needs 4) Learn to love (or at least accept) your unique self.
As a queer Chicano with ADHD, I understand the pain and trauma of struggling in ways that others cannot see or understand – of blaming myself for failing to do what others seemed to do so naturally and easily. I'm very open about my identities, and I like to share my experiences to normalize yours.

The truth is that research is still woefully behind on the treatment of Autistic and ADHD people, and good "evidence based" approaches don't exist yet. My approach to therapy comes from my years of work with Autistic and ADHD folks, focusing on psychoeducation borrowing elements from SFBT, CBT and Adlerian.
