Hello, my name is Nicholas Anderson and I am a counseling intern with Cultivation Counseling. I am currently working toward my licensure as a professional counselor while I finish my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling at Idaho State University. My goal as a counselor is to provide personalized and evidence-based therapies to clients as I support them through their journey of growth, healing, self- discovery and finding self-compassion. Inclusivity is a fundamental aspect of my work as a counselor and I strive to create an environment in which each client feels safe to explore their story with me.
My role is rooted in the cultivation and maintenance of the therapeutic relationship. While my theoretical approach is primarily person-centered and existential, I draw from multiple theories and approaches to suit the needs of my clients. I offer empathy, warmth, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard for the clients that step through my door.
I recognize that taking the first step toward scheduling a counseling appointment can seem scary and vulnerable. It is my belief however, that sharing your story with another human being is a courageous step that can provide relief from life's challenges. If you are ready to take this first step and explore this process with me, I invite you to reach out.
