I have deep empathy and hope as I've been through anxiety, depression, chronic stress and personal loss.
I am accepting new clients and have specialized in overwhelm, stress, and anxiety since 2018. If you feel stuck and want to get "unstuck," you're not alone. My clients, both men and women, often feel overwhelmed and seek more joy, energy, and inner peace. You might feel like you are in survival mode, nearing burnout, and not your best self. If you need help but don’t want to delve into your past as with traditional therapy, life coaching could be the answer where we identify goals, create strategies, use practical tools, and implement healthy habits using the science of habit formation and positive psychology to help you thrive.

We are all in recovery from something, be it healing from an injury, rebuilding trust after a breach, recovering from a loss.
I believe that all people are full and whole. We all have needs, that sometimes go unmet and present in a variety of ways. If you're seeking preparedness for taking on life's inevitable challenges and finding deeper ways to understand and connect to yourself, that could lead to a fuller life that you can live with ease.

It might mean learning skills to regulate stress, working through a loss, or life transition, or helping you change a pattern of behavior that is keeping you stuck.
Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you feel like your life is not where you expected it to be? Do you wonder if life should feel somehow better, more meaningful? Now more than ever, people are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their relationships, careers, and busy lives. Pushing away your needs can lead to long-term issues for your mind and body.

Are you facing a significant transition? Maybe it's related to a relationship, parenting, a career, a move, downsizing, health or loss. It may be a transition you have been contemplating or one you were put into unexpectedly. Whatever the circumstances, transitions bring change that move us outside of our comfort zone and can leave us feeling out of balance. If this sounds like you, I would love to help you gain a greater sense of control and wellbeing, as you navigate through your transition.

"Liminality" refers to the middle stage of change, the threshhold between what was, and what is yet to be. It is when, and where, we are forced by circumstance or choice to leave behind what is familiar, and to journey into a place of uncertainty. It is a normal part of being human. I named my practice Liminal Therapy to honor the process of change and human resilience. My clients are adults (18+) and include people with ADHD and related anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, addictions, and issues related to the stressors of life stages and transitions. Diversity and multicultural wisdom traditions are welcome and appreciated.

While many consider suffering demeaning, I have found that after acknowledging the impact of hardship and completing proper grief work, we often emerge with great self-awareness and resiliency.
I currently do not have openings for individual therapy. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist and Consultant who specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. I believe that healing from trauma is possible (as opposed to just learning how to cope with post-traumatic symptoms). I consider therapy a collaborative, creative process. Clinically, I am warm, active, innovative and data-driven. I incorporate clinical hypnosis, inner child work, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, TF-CBT, EFT, mindfulness, the FLASH technique and polyvagal exercises into EMDR therapy as needed.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
