Some days it can seem almost impossible to get out of bed. Stress about a job, deep depression, or a dysfunctional family can affect a person’s overall state of mind. It is at times like this that I can help. People have an innate desire to be well and a strength to make it happen, but they may not know how to unlock this strength. It is my desire to help them do just that.

Motherhood, marriage, and building a career have you feeling pulled in too many directions. You want to appear successful, and as if you have it all together but deep down are struggling to feel confident in who you are because someone always needs you and no one -especially yourself is getting the best of you. One thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to enjoy life without your anxiety getting in the way. You’re ready to find joy in the day-to-day again, free of the need to please others. You’re ready for a new “normal,” and I can help you.

Are you or someone you know struggling with managing emotions-anxiety or depression, are there sexual concerns for yourself or in your relationship, or are you struggling with adjustments in your life, maybe starting a family or parenting children who struggle with behaviors? If so I would love to hear from you in order to see if I am a good fit to help. I love working with all types of family systems, currently with couples or adult individuals. I believe that part of moving forward towards change is supporting my clients in finding the solutions within themselves.

I am accepting new clients and have specialized in overwhelm, stress, and anxiety since 2018. If you feel stuck and want to get "unstuck," you're not alone. My clients, both men and women, often feel overwhelmed and seek more joy, energy, and inner peace. You might feel like you are in survival mode, nearing burnout, and not your best self. If you need help but don’t want to delve into your past as with traditional therapy, life coaching could be the answer where we identify goals, create strategies, use practical tools, and implement healthy habits using the science of habit formation and positive psychology to help you thrive.

For over a decade, I have worked with adults who are curious to know themselves on a deeper level and desire a meaningful sense of healing. Heal your past with an effective, evidenced-based therapeutic approach that supports your whole being. Our brains and bodies can and want to move toward health and balance - and, at times there are barriers that interrupt that process. EMDR therapy allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR does not require talking in detail about your wounds, distress, or trauma.

At times, we find ourselves in seasons of life where we may feel disoriented and easily overwhelmed. We can begin questioning ourselves and wondering if we’ve chartered off course or lost our way. During challenging times, it can be easy to feel overburdened by heavy emotions, intrusive thoughts, and the simple tasks of everyday life. Navigating relationships, careers, finances, and other responsibilities can pile up and take their toll on our well-being.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
