We are often struggling with life's pressures and the intersectionality of racism, classism & sexism and for black women and women of color the combination of all three. BIPOC people are overwhelmed. We are often juggling several roles, managing workplace stress, absorbing societal pressures, meeting family obligations and often neglecting our own needs. I'm a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy to clients in need. I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Nyack College, and have more recently studied forensic psychology in a post graduate program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

I have extensive experience with traumatic experiences, such as rape, incest, violence, human trafficking & symptom re-emergence. With nearly 20 years in the field of behavioral sciences, she has been instrumental in her work with stabilizing individuals and families. I use an integrative approach drawing from best practices in current assessment research and utilizing trauma-informed clinical interviewing. My areas of expertise include sexual harassment and workplace violence, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, domestic homicides, and sex and labor trafficking. Issues I have evaluated include trauma and PTSD, violence risk, coercive controlling tactics, dissociation and memory issues, sexual grooming, trauma bonding and traumatic attachments.

Much of my work is done with clients who are looking to grow from the many unfortunate events that have happened in their lives. I do believe that traumatic situations can destroy a person if they remain a victim. But if they are willing to do the hard work of turning that pain into power, then their situation didn't occur in vain. That is why I am both analytical and an action oriented and caring therapist.
