I hold doctoral degrees in both Psychology and in Educational Leadership. As an independently licensed LMFT, I have been trained systemically, both in the areas of leadership and in family systems. When working with individuals and families, I practice a systems-approach to treatment, engaging in the therapeutic process as a client-centered, collaborative relationship. My core beliefs incorporate the value of the client's narrative. I view the client as the expert on his or her story. My role is to co-construct therapeutic goals that can create a space for change to best support the client's journey.

Painful experiences and the stressors of everyday life can leave us feeling stuck in patterns of shame, anxiety, fear, and overwhelm. I invite you to come as you are, and aim to cultivate a space of connection and compassionate self-inquiry. I view the therapeutic process as a creative and collaborative one, and will work with you to navigate the path that will best serve your needs as you move toward deeper self understanding and long term healing.

My passion and motivation is to help people become the best versions of themselves. Life experiences and circumstances can be challenging to overcome and deal with. I am compassionate about fostering positive mental health in children, adolescents, young adults, and couples. My focus is addressing issues such as identity exploration, trauma, life transitions, relationship dynamics, anxiety, and depression. My goal is to support you in processing and healing through what is needed for you to heal and grow into your best self.

My goal is to support & encourage with compassion, empathy & respect. I have become painfully aware of the need for affordable, professional & efficient, solution focused support, especially during the holidays! I am experienced in working with individuals &/or couples who are struggling alone &/or in their relationships or who are dealing with such issues as anxiety &/or depression, trauma, addiction, legal issues, gender identity, infidelity, divorce, ADHD/Autism (I am a professional member of AANE, the Asperger/Autism Network) &/or learning disorders, physical conditions, bullying, suicidal ideation &/or grief & loss.

The type of clients who seek my support are both individuals and couples who are deeply committed to their own relationship with themselves. It is this primary relationship to Self that informs how we relate to others. I work with folks who are curious or already invested in living in alignment with their chosen values. I practice through a lens of deep compassion, curiosity, warmth, and radical reverence for grief-work and the reciprocal relationship between Grief and Gratitude. I support my clients through challenges that can ultimately lead to more insight, wisdom, self-love, compassion and a sense of security and well-being.

Life is hard. People are hard. Systems are hard. At times, it can feel like there is so much working against our well-being and the life we hope to live, the relationships we hope to have. And we all have beautifully complex healing systems that are unique to our passions, experiences and ultimately our core. I enjoy engaging with people in their stories and exploring a balance of struggles that have caused suffering as well the narratives that are unexplored. Trauma impacts and resides in both your brain and body. If left untreated, trauma can manifest in your life in a variety of challenging ways. Your ability to trust and build satisfying relationships may have been impacted. You may frequently feel overwhelmed and as if your experiences and relationships are hard, scary, and confusing. It may feel difficult to relax and focus. Therapy is an opportunity to gain the insight and awareness that is required in order to effectively address trauma and resolve it. Validating your experiences and offering a safe space to consider effective ways of coping and managing the impact is my focus.

Since the COVID-19 crisis began, I moved all of my clients to video or telephone calls. I plan on keeping my sessions that way. I provide services in both English and Spanish. As a clinical mental health counselor, I believe the relationship between client and therapist is the most important part of the process. It is imperative that client(s) can trust me, and I provide a safe place for my clients to let themselves be vulnerable. I offer a judgement free atmosphere where my clients can grow and learn how to be the best version of themselves, to recognize their strengths and enhance coping skill using various modalities.
