My practice is grounded in the belief that we heal through attuned relationship. I hold the therapeutic alliance in high regard and value co-creating space for exploration with clients. Depending on what you bring to our sessions, attachment-based, existential, psychodynamic, or interpersonal techniques may be incorporated.

I commonly see people with concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and grief. In session, we will look at what you are hoping to get from the counseling experience and collaboratively discover what will work for your situation, which may involve getting unstuck from emotional and/or behavioral issues. My orientation includes considering our relationships to life. We will take into account relational factors, which may include environments, people, culture, expectations and roles. The therapy process may assist you in gaining a deeper understanding of your values and skills, toward transformative change.

I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 1982. I have worked in a variety of settings and am comfortable treating individuals, couples, and families. I especially enjoy working with older adolescents/young adults struggling with self-identity issues that can include co-occurring disorders. Strong background in treating substance use disorders. I also specialize in anger related issues with concomitant mood disorders.

We offer support for folks in the LGBTQ, poly, kink, and gender diverse communities. I follow the WPATH standards of care when writing letters of support for medical transition and can offer that letter after 1 gender assessment. Every clinician or student intern working with this practice is LGBTQ+ identifying or affirming so this is a safe space for you to explore whatever you wish. I have a FEW openings for MEDiCAID clients. I really enjoy working with teens and young adults. I also work with adults of all ages. Most of my clients are working on resolving sexual orientation questions, gender identity concerns, low self-esteem, self-identity issues, depression, anxiety, and social fears, among other problems. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have a particular interest in supporting gender non-conforming people and the community as a whole.
