I use The Rorschach Inkblot Test when indicated for testing.
If you have found yourself in a pattern of unhealthy relationships or behaviors and have struggled with behavior change, my approach to treatment will likely be a good fit. Finding the right "fit" with a therapist can be a challenging process and is often one of the most important ingredients for successful outcomes. I have experience in working with anxiety disorders, personality disorders, depression/bipolar disorder, OCD, and adjustment disorders. I conduct formal psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification/treatment planning, as part of pre-surgical clearance, and domestic and international pre-adoption evaluations.

These tests can be used to assess for learning disabilities, ADHD, executive functioning and emotional difficulties.
It's that "A-ha" moment. It's that look of recognition and relief. Those are the feelings I love to see when I've finally crossed the "psychological" bridge and have developed a connection with someone. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with children/adolescents struggling with numerous issues, such as ADHD, depression and family conflict. I provide a supportive and nurturing environment and in conjunction with positive reinforcement from parents, you start to see a change.

In addition to therapy, I offer testing for accommodations (including extra time) on standardized exams, such as LSAT, GMAT and MCAT.
Given many stressors of modern life and demand to always be on top of our game, many of us are overwhelmed, suffering from unwanted emotions and feeling trapped in our circumstances. I offer supportive environment and goal-directed, biologically valid and clinically proven therapeutic approaches to help my clients re-establish healthy and functional relationship with their emotions, problem-solve through their circumstances and become "un-stuck" in their lives. In my practice, I combine elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, existential and biological/evolutionary perspectives.

It feels like there's some sort of rule book for life that you missed. How do other people know what's going on? You have/wonder about ADHD or Autism, or maybe people tell you that you should, but what does that really mean? I can help you understand what this means for you; how impacts you, and what this might mean in relationships. This might include work on anxiety, sadness, executive functioning, burnout, working on personal goal setting/finding direction, or a diagnostic evaluation. You'll have a safe place to be yourself, insight into your life, and concrete tips for moving forward, allowing you to be you.

Testing and Evaluation Therapists
What is a psychological evaluation?
A psychological evaluation is a test or assessment most commonly administered by a trained psychologist that is intended to be used in the diagnosis of specific psychological conditions, such as ADHD, mood disorders, personality disorders, dementia or Alzheimer's, and learning disabilities. Psychological evaluations can help inform future treatment decisions and help direct clients to professionals and resources that may be most helpful, such as potential therapy options or additional school supports.
Can psychological evaluations be done on individuals of any age group?
Psychological evaluations are conducted on individuals of all ages and can be beneficial to individuals across the lifespan. However, specific types of evaluations may be most frequently conducted on individuals of certain age groups. For instance, ADHD or learning disability testing is often conducted in children ages 4-12--the period of time when ADHD symptoms most commonly emerge. In contrast, cognitive functioning assessments, such as those conducted to diagnose dementia, are most commonly conducted in elderly individuals. Clients should ensure that the psychologist they are seeing has specific expertise in conducting evaluations in their age group to ensure they receive a correct diagnosis.
How long does a psychological evaluation take?
Psychological evaluations vary in length depending on the test being administered and the goals of the evaluation; however, most evaluations are 2-4 hours in length. Some evaluations may take as long as 8 hours but can often be spread across multiple days. In some cases, clients will also attend an intake session or interview, which can help the psychologist assess client functioning outside of the testing environment.
How should I prepare for a psychological test and evaluation?
Individuals do not need to prepare for psychological tests or evaluations in most cases, as they are intended to measure a client's baseline psychological status without test-specific preparation. However, clients may want to brainstorm a list of questions for their psychologist about any tests they are receiving prior to the assessment, including what potential outcomes may mean for what next steps the client should take.
