Have you experienced vibrant well-being, peace, joy, a feeling of everything being in synch, or happiness for no reason? Unfortunately, these are often fleeting experiences, moments of grace in the midst of stress, conflict, fear or anxiety, boredom, striving, emptiness, and perhaps poor physical or emotional health. You may feel it is impossible when you are down to ever feel good again. But you can! It is a matter a bit of guidance and learning how to free yourself from the obstacles to your health, inner peace and harmony and balance.

Adolescents rock! Adolescence sucks... As the adult emerges, the need to separate and individuate is primal and the ensuing metamorphosis affects all important relationships. Adapting to the rights and responsibilities of the emerging adult can be confusing and frustrating and make for multitudes of conflicts. As a therapist, I am pragmatic and practical, look for ways to support the process of growing up, teach necessary skills to increase interpersonal effectiveness and mindful self-care. My goal is to help individuals understand their needs and as to achieve a sense of fulfillment and independence necessary to satisfying living.

Throughout our lives we are strengthened, not defined, by our experiences. Some experiences are welcomed and enjoyed and others are challenging and even devastating at times. The work for all of us in this life is to learn how to cope with and grow from our experiences while empowering ourselves and others to create more positive ones. We can do this by staying mindful and connected to the strength and stability within us. I believe we have an innate need and ability to connect and feel a sense of unconditional acceptance and this is what therapy can offer.

Life brings many unexpected and sometimes very difficult challenges. Change and transition can be uncomfortable and painful, particularly when it is not what we want or envision.
Through therapy one can gain insight into one's self and come to understand how certain life events impact your life. Through this process of self reflection one can explore how to better manage events outside of one's control, learn more adaptive coping skills and find strategies for dealing with distress. Therapy is a tool to help people develop and improve areas of their lives that ultimately lead to greater inner contentment.

Today's world is full of many complexities. Do you have difficulty trying to navigate expectations, or having difficulty knowing how to think or feel? Parenting, relationships, careers, and learning/developmental challenges can all be extremely stressful - and not to mention “things change” as we experience life. Do you have difficulty taking care of yourself, getting your needs met and making healthy choices? Do you have difficulty finding a place to become less stressed and figure things out? Things can improve! I believe that optimism and hope are essential elements of healing.

Women constantly struggle trying to meet the demands of society. Whether married or single, child-free or have a full household, it feels like a never-ending list of “to-dos”. Waking up to a flurry of thoughts, running moment to moment attempting to be present in your life while constantly jumping to the next thing … it’s a race of survival at times. How is it that all the other women around you seem like they’ve got it together? Well, they don’t.

My approach is grounded in the belief that there exists an innate wisdom in the body and mind. I work with you to facilitate your ability to tap into that wisdom. I incorporate a somatically oriented therapy where you the client can begin to notice your body response, emotional response, and the mind's response to the issues you are struggling with. Change becomes possible as you mindfully observe, process, and integrate these response patterns to discover how you organize your experience.
