I am committed to helping people learn how to build healthier relationships with themselves, their loved ones, and the world. Our work together will target past experiences, present life challenges, and steps towards your future life. I believe in giving the body its due and supporting you in gently bringing your mind and body back together. I use an eclectic approach, including Brainspotting, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing. I additionally offer sound healing.

My somatic, psychodynamic approach incorporates personal imagery, creativity, and the body.
“Start close in…” What in you is hungry for answers? What might your life look like if you were deeply well fed by your choices? People come to me with hunger pangs. They're hungry for deep connection - to themselves, to a partner, to a job, to their life. They come to me craving answers - carrying persistent questions that may be contributing greatly to feelings of starvation, of wanting more. I partner with people who are searching for clarity, purpose, and more meaningful connections both personally and professionally. My clients seek to be better nourished by their life choices and feel more balanced in their relationships.

I typically incorporate expressive arts-based techniques, somatic work, mindfulness and IFS concepts into my sessions to encourage insight and healing on a core level.
Welcome! I'm so glad you landed on my page. I am a strengths-based, client-centered, expressive arts therapist who sees teens and adults working through anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief/loss, relationship issues, identity questions, & trauma. The first thing I'll do when we meet is listen. I want to hear your story, in the way that you tell it. Together, we'll explore the parts of your story that are working for you, and the parts you want to shift; the parts of your story that are in your control, and those that are not. I will act as guide and witness to the work you do to move towards the life you want and deserve.

I have training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Dissociation, Somatic Experiencing, and Mindfulness.
Welcome! I have spent more than a decade in trauma work and understand the arduous process to release the debilitating grip past trauma can have on a client’s present-moment experience. I prepare my clients to find that invisible line between comfort and discomfort to set the foundation for lifechanging results and encourage them to live in their own authentic truth. Trauma healing looks different for everyone and I work side by side with each of my clients to design a path of healing that feels right to them.

Is pain from the past inhibiting you from living the life you envisioned for yourself? Does it feel like you've been through so much that it's hard to even conceive of such an "envisioning?" Save that stuff for once you're out of survival mode, right? The fact is, trauma alone is not uncommon- it's part of being a human being. But for some of us, these traumas have been so severe that we can struggle to bounce back, feeling adrift and alone. Like journeying across the ocean when a storm cracks your mast, emotional trauma can leave us feeling lost, confused, and even desperate without a sail. How do we get back to dry land?

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
