Accepting New Clients Now...........Everyone experiences grief and loss, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. Sometimes we feel as though these experiences are ours alone. I am here to remind you that these universal experiences can be as natural and welcomed as taking a deep breath. When you start therapy, we will open the chapters of your life that are hard to talk about. Through the use of art therapy, we can create meaning in your mental health needs, and find a way to deal with them realistically and gracefully. If this message resonates with you, give me call and we will begin your journey of healing together.

Having the courage to seek therapy is never easy. One may feel hopeless, vulnerable, frustrated and unable to cope without outside help. While working in an inpatient psychiatric facility, it has allowed me to work extensively with anxiety, depression, bipolar, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, etc. I work with my clients to identify areas of their life that are causing suffering, collaboratively identifying effective ways to manage and reduce emotional pain. I utilize both warmth and validation with evidence-based behavioral change strategies.

Family conflict, grief, anger management, major mood disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, multicultural concerns, paranoia, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and self-love.
I believe in taking a person centered approach to meeting the unique needs of each individual I meet. Therapy should always feel safe and provide each person with seeds of encouragement and empowerment that cultivates growth and change from within. How committed are you to making the changes that you want to see?

I have experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, foster care, adoption, bipolar, personality disorders, parenting, and stress.
Everyone deserves to have their voice heard. In our everyday lives we may not always feel that others listen to what we have to say. This can increase feelings of anxiety and depression and eventually overwhelm us to a point where we don’t see any way out. I want you to know that I am here for you. What you have to say and what you think and feel is important. Not only will I listen to you, but I will guide you through the difficult struggles which come your way. You are not alone.

I have experience working with serious mental illness such as bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and personality disorders.
Welcome to the beginning of a potentially transforming time in your life. The decision to seek therapy is both scary and courageous as it requires a person to be vulnerable with a perfect stranger. Every time I begin to work with a new person, I am always awed by the motivation and fortitude it takes to make changes in one's life. To explore our fears, motivations, dreams, goals and strengths is not necessarily the norm of our society, however, to embark on this journey provides a significantly more fulfilled life.

I have a full and deep life of experience to draw from in meeting my clients in sacred space. The loss of a son, a marriage, a career, accumulated material rewards, and most importantly, the potential of life unlived; dreams unfulfilled. This is soul work. Prepared by the vulnerability of my story, I hold insight and compassion for those whose burdens must be eased into, passed through, and reborn into new purpose, for the quality of our life is in our overcoming. Navigating the troubled waters of depression, anxiety, relational fissures, and archetypal energies is the first threshold of a healing journey.

Beginning therapy and finding a new therapist can feel challenging yet hopeful. It is important to find a therapist with whom you can form a close bond and who begins to understand you. This bond can give way to more deep and meaningful therapeutic work. As an Object Relations psychoanalytical psychotherapist I will use our therapeutic relationship as the primary vehicle for change. Psychoanalytic work helps provide relief from debilitating symptoms as well as addresses the deeper underlying causes of your symptoms. Our work also allows for exploration in understanding unconscious drives that shape your daily life and relationships.

We are all striving toward a feeling of wholeness – masterpieces in the works; beautifully made and continually being refined. Life sometimes doesn’t go the way we plan and can leave us feeling distant from that feeling of wholeness and disconnected from a sense of meaning.

Personality Disorders Therapists
What are the common treatment options for personality disorders?
Personality disorders are typically treated with psychotherapy, sometimes in conjunction with medication. Therapy can help people with personality disorders develop skills to tolerate difficult emotions, navigate interpersonal relationships, and solidify their sense of self. Medications can treat symptoms that co-occur with the disorder, such as depression, anger, aggression, and impulsivity.
When to seek treatment for personality disorders?
Even though treatment for personality disorders can be an uphill battle, it’s best to seek help if you suspect that you or a loved one is struggling with one, because personality disorders can create substantial problems in life. Symptoms depend on the specific disorder, but overall signs of personality disorders include consistent difficulty maintaining close relationships, dramatic variations in self-esteem, and an unstable sense of identity.
How long does therapy take for personality disorders?
The timeline for treating personality disorders isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other disorders. Change can be difficult, taking from around one year to five, 10, or more. The key is finding a therapist who has extensive experience treating the relevant disorder. For example, a psychologist who specializes in narcissistic personality disorder has specific communication strategies that allow them to sustain the relationship and be more effective with narcissistic patients.
Can therapy help people with personality disorders?
Research suggests that for those who are motivated to address concerns or interpersonal conflict related to a personality disorder, therapy is far more effective than no treatment, and that most people in therapy see improvements. However, since personality disorders involve entrenched elements of identity, they are less responsive to treatment than are other mental health conditions. Finding an expert who has extensive experience working with a given personality disorder is one factor that increases the likelihood of successful treatment.
