I take an evidence-based approach using traditional methods like cognitive behavioral-based therapies (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), as well as trauma modalities.
I appreciate the courage it takes to seek therapy. If you are struggling with loss or life transitions, stuck in the various forms of addiction or simply desire some objectivity then I would love to meet you. I find joy helping my clients discover their truest potential, parts of themselves previously unseen. In the process my approach will be direct yet compassionate, I will speak in a language that's easy to understand and relatable.

Drawing from modalities like CBT, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness, Amanda creates a safe and restorative space for her clients to explore their strengths and overcome challenges.
Sometimes life is hard. It seems like people are feeling the pressures of life more and more from every different area of their life. In therapy with me, we can talk through and process stressors. What you can expect from me is a caring, patient, sensitive, sometimes humorous, dedicated listener. We will work together to tailor your care and needs. Sometimes people just need to talk and be heard. Other times, people need tools, skills, tasks to practice improving their life that are realistic and manageable. As of Summer 2024, I have a few opening for telehealth only.

I utilize family systems, DBT, CBT, and solution focused theories to help my clients gain a broader view of the issues that they face.

Depending on what kind of client you are we will collaborate and plan an approach that instills the change you want to see in your life.

I prefer ACT, family systems, and behavioral interventions for therapy clients, but am flexible depending on an individual's needs.
I believe in a rapport-based approach to therapy: mainly authenticity in communication and interpersonal development of relationships. I aim to remove stigmas and depathologize issues, focusing on outcomes over symptoms. My philosophy is that people are often unaware of their core values, or stressors have made them seem far too distant. When building acceptance around the reality of problems facing families, and focusing on objectives that improve wellness, change can occur. The behavioral interventions, objectivity, and support found in the therapeutic relationship help lead individuals and families to their goals.

Life can be so hard sometimes. Things happen that are unexpected, and we are left searching for answers or trying to cope. Many people feel they have to go through this alone or don't know how to reach out for help. My goal as a therapist is to help give you and/or your child that support you need in a caring and non-judgmental way. Going to therapy can be very scary at first and I will do my best to help you feel comfortable and cared-for from the very beginning.

As the parent of a child/teen that struggles with their wounded selves, you have tried everything. The exhaustive interventions that you have tried are going nowhere fast. Throwing in the towel is all that you have left. Your marriage is more daunting than it is invigorating and you keep hitting a wall with connecting to one another. Depression has you stuck in quicksand and the struggle is consuming you. Anxiety has its grip on you and it is controlling your life. You find yourself asking what more can you do? You feel all alone in your struggles and are having more moments of frustration than joy. Asking for help is hard.

Family Systems Therapists
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
