I am glad you are here, taking steps toward putting yourself first. As a clinical therapist, I provide a person-centered approach to therapy, by creating a supportive and encouraging environment to help you move towards your optimal health. It is my belief that we need to develop protective parts to help us navigate through traumatic and stressful times. Our past can keep us stuck in old patterns. My goal is that together we reprocess past experiences to recreate new, healthier patterns for relationships, or other vulnerable areas in your life.

I best help those grow who are willing to reflect, take accountability, and initiate change. My areas of specialty include: Trauma & PTSD, Generational Trauma, Attachment Wounds, Narcissistic Abuse, and Personality Conflict. I currently hold a license in the state of Nebraska and Iowa.

As a mental health therapist, my goal is to guide you through the healing process by offering a safe & confidential space to explore and overcome whatever obstacles you may be facing. I have worked with individuals seeking recovery from grief & loss, depression and anxiety, domestic violence/abuse, relationship challenges, trauma, substance use, and childhood issues to name a few. I work with children, teens, adults, and seniors both in person and via Telehealth.

My ideal client wants (and possibly needs) help! Much like all of us. We all have something to work on (even this guy!). I'm not the perfect therapist for everyone, and I promote client autonomy and self-advocacy. I have experience with an assortment of issues (been working at an inpatient psych facility for two years). I'm here to meet you where you're at and provide no judgement at all. Unfortunately, everyone experiences painful events at times in their life. Helping people to rebuild their lives back to what it was before or building a whole new life is something I have enjoyed doing for nearly 25 years. I enjoy working with people by addressing a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, substance use and other addictions, various types of trauma, relationships, divorce, unresolved grief, co-dependency, and anger management to name a few. I accept most insurance plans including Medicaid. A reduced fee is available for clients without insurance on a limited basis. Telehealth services are also available.

The journey of healing is not an easy one but through compassion and no judgment, I will earn your trust to hear your story. I am culturally well rounded as well and can relate to issues of navigating through life at an intersection of multiple cultures as an African immigrant woman. My work experience also includes working with and doing advocacy work for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

I have a passion for helping people harness their creative energies to improve their lives. I have a special passion for helping adult survivors of abuse and trauma, people experiencing medical challenges (such as cancer, chronic pain, recently-acquired disabilities, etc.), and the elderly. I also provide creative coaching services for people who want to learn to use art making for wellness and personal development. I also specialize in helping elderly people and their families creatively review and document their life stories.

Having the courage to seek therapy is never easy. One may feel hopeless, vulnerable, frustrated and unable to cope without outside help. While working in an inpatient psychiatric facility, it has allowed me to work extensively with anxiety, depression, bipolar, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, etc. I work with my clients to identify areas of their life that are causing suffering, collaboratively identifying effective ways to manage and reduce emotional pain. I utilize both warmth and validation with evidence-based behavioral change strategies.
