Infidelity Therapists in Lincoln, NE
I have been fortunate to work with diverse populations from families trying to deal with communication issues, to those dealing with the fallout of sexual addictions and couples experiencing betrayal or intimacy issues.
My heart as a counselor is to meet my clients where they are. I believe that we are all on a journey of growth with a desire to improve our emotional health. Every once in a while we get to a place where we feel stuck and sometimes being stuck is painful. That is where a qualified therapist can come into the picture and help you identify goals and process past hurts. I strive to provide a safe place where my clients can work through these issues free of judgement.

The ache and overwhelm of unresolved attachment trauma is not something anyone is meant to move through alone. If you're struggling to make sense of a partner's infidelity, the loss of a loved one through death or separation, or how you and your partner ended up not only turning away from each other but turning against each other, know you can not only survive this season, but find purpose, healing, and peace again. My training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, EMDR, and DBT allows me to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to those looking to stop merely coping and start truly living.

Life often comes with obstacles that are too overwhelming to tackle alone. Whether these may come in the form of traumatic experiences, inner struggles, relationship issues, or life adjustments, it can be difficult to seek extra support as you navigate through them. I work to help individuals navigate their journey through life’s hurdles by helping them identify strengths within themselves and their relationships, and to find meaning in their challenges. I primarily work with older children and adults who have experienced childhood trauma, sexual/physical abuse, betrayal/ infidelity, and grief/loss.

I'm trained in EMDR and use this along with somatic experiencing and IFS approaches to support clients impacted by attachment, betrayal, sexual, and religious trauma.
Are you living with chronic pain or illness and looking for a way to not just white-knuckle your way through life, but also experience peace and joy again? Were you raised by emotionally immature or unavailable parents, and are now feeling those effects as you attempt to navigate your own adult romantic relationships? Did a religious community that once brought you a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaning end up deceiving or betraying you, and now you're left unsure of how to reintegrate those needs back into your life? These are areas in which I specialize, and the support you need is just a phone call away!

I work with clients who are struggling with relational issues, controlling their anger, infidelity, and healing from relational trauma.
As a child of immigrants. I’ve learned the importance of co-existing in two different cultures and how that can impact one’s mental health. I deeply understand the learned narratives surrounding privacy even at the cost of your mental health. Because of this I sought out additional education and certifications in numerous trauma modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
