I have a passion for working with children and families facing a variety of challenges. Empowering young adults that are transitioning to adulthood and learning to step out on their own with the self-confidence and resilience to take on the world and reach their goals. I also enjoy working with parents that are looking to navigate the challenges of adjusting to parenthood, improving their child's behavior, and/or healing and strengthening the parent-child relationship.

Professionally, I'm interested in Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger's Disorder), Depression, Anxiety, Parenting Issues, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), co-occurring disorders (formerly called Dual Diagnosis Disorders), lifespan development/lifespan developmental psychopathology, and resiliency. My heart as a counselor is to meet my clients where they are. I believe that we are all on a journey of growth with a desire to improve our emotional health. Since 2011, I have worked with clients across settings, including children's hospital, behavioral health clinic, state locked unit, community counseling center, and university counseling services (UNL & ISU). Over the last five years, I primarily worked with university students struggling with anxiety, depression, intimate relationship, coping, adjustment, family of origin, substance use, academic performance, and career issues. More recently, I have transitioned to operating from my private practice office located at the Behavioral Wellness Center, where I offer counseling and psychological evaluations with a focus on ADHD and ASD.

I believe in a holistic approach where we work with the mind, body, and spirit to promote lasting healing. My passion is working together to foster life-balance, meaning, and connections that support you in reaching your full potential. I began working in Mental Health 32 years ago in Chicago and I found my calling. I provide counseling and support to a variety of individuals. I work with individuals who live with schizophrenia, psychotic disorders, bipolar, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma and grief. Clients want to be heard, to be validated that their experiences are real, their experiences are hard and painful. With support and a non judgmental environment , clients can learn ways in which to manage their symptoms, reduce them and recover.

My passion for working with others to find solace in their life has spanned a period of 21 years; both as a therapist & a school administrator. No matter who we are, there are obstacles & roadblocks that we need help overcoming. Sometimes, we need someone with whom we can bare our soul; sometimes we need reassurance that our thoughts are reasonable; sometimes we just need someone to listen.
