I have a passion for working with individuals, couples, and families to define and discover/rediscover joy and wellness. Through my experience (15+ years) and education (Ph.D.), I have learned to bring my expertise into the therapeutic relationship in a way that empowers my clients to lean into their inner voice, while creating a life that is centered around their own hopes, dreams, and vision.

Virtual Appointments Only-As a Clinical Psychologist (Psy.D) and certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C), I am passionate for working with individuals in all stages of parenthood, with a particular interest in supporting women through infertility and assisted reproduction, pregnancy and postpartum, trauma as well as grief and loss. I am a PSYPACT approved provider; allowing me to offer virtual sessions across state lines (currently 39 participating states).

As a therapist for over 25 years, I have learned that building a relationship with my clients is most important. Making the decision to come to therapy is difficult, and building trust is a priority. I want to walk with my clients on their journey of healing, focusing on strengths and learning new skills. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from North Dakota State University and am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

I was born and raised in ND and currently live on the family farm NW of Minot. I am a LPCC and have recently joined the world of private practice after working for the State of ND for over 30 years.

I provide outpatient therapy services to children, adults, and families addressing issues related, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, grief/loss, divorce, abuse, cancer/medical issues, and women's issues (infertility, perinatal loss, abortion, etc). My goal is to assist individuals and/or families in finding the balance needed to lead stable, healthy lifestyles while creating and rebuilding essential, life-long relationships. I have worked with children, adults, and families for several years and focus on respect, love, connections, and most importantly, discovery.

I enjoy working with clients that want to take an active role in their healing or self-betterment journey. These clients desire a better understanding of themselves and are willing to trust the process of counseling. They engage in consistency and follow through.

I focus on unresolved family of origin issues that typically result in the child never outgrowing appropriate insecurity. This then becomes inappropriate insecurity in adulthood which compromises the emotional quality of life in intimate relationships. This adult emotional insecurity manifests itself when a person unknowingly becomes excessively emotionally or physically dependent upon other human beings or activities for that emotional or physical nurturing. The loss of this nurturing will then trigger emotional stress. When this emotional stress becomes chronic, psychological and physiological problems can occur. I identify and teach my clients how to overcome this lifelong insecure thinking and behaving.

I love what I do because it allows me to walk next to people I would never have met had I chosen a different profession, as they work to make amazing life changes. I provide therapy for adolescents and adults ages 16-40. I believe in meeting clients where they are and guiding them as they work toward their individual goals and needs. I am very open to processing anything that a client brings to our time together and exploring underlying issues related to trauma. I work with clients to discover the root of their symptoms and identify how those symptoms are impacting their life and daily functioning. I also help clients discover useful coping skills to further promote their ability to cope and improve daily functioning.

I have extensive experience working with early developmental trauma, difficulties with parent-child attachment, anxiety, significant life changes, and mood disorders. I am a Registered Play Therapist and trained in Family Attachment Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR with a focus on children. My goal is that you feel listened to and we find the most effective way to help your family. Whether that's by developing new parenting strategies, improving the parent-child relationship, or individual sessions where I meet with your child, we will figure out what's best for you.

I provide therapy for children and adults aged 5-65. I use a combination of mindfulness, CBT, DBT, ACT, and person-centered therapy in my work, but ultimately I believe in letting my clients be the driver of their therapy. I want to help people learn the skills to make their lives a little easier and to help them get rid of the weight they are carrying on their shoulders.

I provide therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults who have complex behavioral health issues. I combine my extensive clinical expertise with my belief in kids, and have a unique ability to find and develop their strengths. I work hard to be an ideal therapist for the clients I am working with and doing what is best to fit their needs. I typically provide cognitive behavioral therapy augmented with motivational interviewing and psychoeducation, but I am trained in other modalities as well.
