I am here to walk by your side through a journey that is yours-to follow the path you have chosen. You are the expert, and know which direction to follow. For the most therapeutic journey, it is important to find a therapist whose personality and therapy style is a good fit for you and your needs. I have a direct, but empathetic communication style. I love helping adolescents, adults, and couples in need of working through communication issues, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, issues with intimacy, setting boundaries, and trauma.

Are you a highly driven person with a plate that’s always overloaded? If you answered…“all the freakin’ time.” Then you’re in the right place, Welcome! To those around you, you appear very much together. Meanwhile, on the inside, you feel like you’re having multiple silent panic attacks. Anxiety pops up over everyday things, mistakes you’ve made, circumstances that don’t go according to plan, or an unexpected event that adds more to your plate. You’re dodging anxiety bombs of varying sizes and when they do go off, it leaves you feeling an overstimulated mess.

We all have stories to tell. As a therapist, my greatest joy is working with clients on rewriting their story in a way that gives them power over their life. Whether you are struggling to control your thoughts, continue to replay scenes over and over in your mind, or noticing relationships in life being impacted by emotions, I am here to hold space for the stories you hold while offering unconditional positive regard in this journey towards wholeness. I want to help you achieve the kind of life you have always wanted, to help you overcome obstacles that stand between you and your hopes and dreams. Many clients tell me they wish they had come to see me sooner. They regret the wasted months... sometimes years. There is no reason to continue to suffer, to continue repeating the same mistakes, or to keep arguing about the same things over and over. The sooner you call, the sooner you can feel better. Together we can find what's going wrong in your life and get you back on track.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
