I enjoy working with clients of all ages, however, find that teens, young adults and parents working for this balance are able to connect well with my therapy style. I provide a tranquil environment of safety that allows clients to let their guard down and gain the skills and tools they need to reach their full potential.

My practice offers Telehealth and in person services. I work together with adults to support their healing journey with trauma, depression, anxiety, chronic and life limiting health conditions, chronic pain, grief/loss. I also offer coaching through the process of psychiatric medication discontinuation, in collaboration with your medical provider. Psychotherapy is available in North Carolina, US. Coaching services via Telehealth are available anywhere in the United States and are fee for service. Clinical Hypnosis is available face to face in office.

My goal as a psychologist is to increase self-awareness and create positive change in a nonjudgmental environment. Psychotherapy can relieve emotional distress, improve one's quality of life, help process painful events and increase self-awareness. Unfortunately many people are conflicted about the decision to get help and may see psychotherapy as a sign of weakness. It has been my experience that people who are unhappy for whatever reason and choose to go to psychotherapy are being assertive, healthy, and courageous in the handling of their problems.

As a therapy professor at ECU, I not only have extensive experience working with families, couples, and individuals, I also train therapists. I help couples struggling with communication issues, infidelity, and parenting. I also specialize in the individual treatment of anxiety and depression. I have been in private practice for 14 years and have worked in mental health for 17 years. I have a Master's Degree in Substance Abuse Clinical Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling. I have been a Registered Yoga Teacher for 24 years. I see clients with varying issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, PTSD, phobias, anger, stress, eating disorders, alcohol and drug addictions as well as behavioral addictions.
