My name is Shawn Roberson and I am the founder of Sunshine Counseling & Consulting Services, PLLC, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, I offer comprehensive virtual and in-person counseling services across the state. Holding licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS), I bring a wealth of experience in Behavioral Health Services, with a professional journey that spans working with a wide range of clients, from children to adults in their middle years.

As a family systems therapist, I view clients from the perspective of their holistic environment. Together we will look at where you are coming from, and where you want to go. I work with clients between 13-80 experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, relationship issues, marital conflict, family conflict, major life adjustments, adolescent issues, parenting issues, men’s issues, and more. I also work with couples and families to improve communication, process trauma, and enhance relationships. There is a soft spot in my heart for teens, young families, couples, men, and those who grieve.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate at Affinity Counseling & Wellness, PLLC, where I work with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. My clinical experience includes working with individuals of all ages (7 and up) in both inpatient and private practice settings. I have a special interest in working with adolescents and young adults experiencing life transitions and adjustment difficulty, spiritual issues, anxiety, and depression.

Hello! I am a counselor licensed in North and South Carolina with over 22 years of experience. I’ve worked with a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, family and parenting issues, ADHD, behavioral issues, and more. Courtney Jones is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina with over 10 years of experience partnering with children and adults seeking help with depression, anxiety, substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, and self-esteem issues. Courtney completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Family Ministry from Lenoir-Rhyne College, and her Master of Arts in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary.

In my view, the relationship of feelings and thoughts to behavior is important in understanding all aspects of our lives, including spiritual awareness. I use a variety of strategies that can help people make sense of their world, strategies that are mostly cognitive and insight-oriented in nature. These strategies are based on the notion that the way people see themselves and the world, influences how they feel and behave. For instance, it may be helpful to examine your family relationships to look at patterns of coping skills. We will talk about these strategies during our sessions and decide what will best fit your situation.

Anxiety and depression can be suffocating and often restrict you from engaging in life in the ways you want to. They are quite successful at creating a cycle of disappointment and desperation that convince you you’re alone and helpless. While that inner voice of yours may be wreaking havoc and demanding that you rethink that situation or decision for the umpteenth time, let me remind you that you are not broken nor are you alone. Everyone has an inherent ability to achieve personal growth and overcome the ravages of anxiety — we just need some guidance at times.
