My passion is people and the therapeutic effect of authentic human connection. It's from a socially safe platform that we begin to really heal. By exploring the lens we're used to, we make space for new perspectives. Learning how you're wired creates opportunity make decisions about what you think, how you feel and what you can and are willing to do about it in order to connect to the self and heal. My clinical lens is rooted in the understanding of and respect for the gut-brain/heart-immune-mind axis, making my approach truly holistic. People deserve to be fed while learning to fish and I love treating people, not diseases.

My life experiences have been too numerous to count. I've had loved ones die, disappointments, medical problems, divorce, betrayals, and more reasons to celebrate than I deserve. I have been extremely blessed by Jesus Christ my Savior, who is the source of all my strength. With God's help, I have accomplished things I never could have imagined. My greatest joy has been raising my three daughters. God gave me wisdom and taught me to have compassion for others in their times of struggles, trials, and difficulties. He taught me to see others through His eyes. He is my constant companion and counselor. Jesus is all the world to me.

One afternoon I told my wife that after another tour, I would be leaving the U.S. Coast Guard for a very different career. Serving my country and the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard is one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life. After serving nine years I knew that directly assisting and serving people is the life-giving work of my heart. Recent financial struggles have added to the weight of the situation, making it hard to move forward. Now, you’re unsure of who you are and what you want. I have held a long passion for mental health counselling since I was young. I am certified in DBT which treats Borderline Personality Disorder, self harm, PTSD, suicidal behavior, substance use, depression, anxiety and eating disorders. My undergrad is in Psychology to better understand human thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I am driven to answer not just why people act in certain ways but also how they can improve their situations, thoughts and mental well-being. I aspired to become a therapist to help people overcome challenges and to be able to live their best life. My greatest passion is for adolescents.

I am IFS Level 2 trained and primarily use this psychospiritual modality in my practice. This involves taking a deep dive into the inner workings of our system, and being open to exploring mystical healing. I am also trained in IFS-informed EMDR, and sometimes blend these modalities for optimal results when working with complex trauma. I regularly facilitate six-week IFS Healing Circles.

My goal is to create a safe space by providing unconditional positive regard for all of the situations that you are willing to discuss.
