I received my bachelor's in Social Work from NC A&T in 2016 and then went on to graduate from the Joint Master of Social Work program at A&T and UNCG in 2018. Since graduating I have been dedicated to working with diverse populations including but not limited to IDD, Foster Care, Refugees/Immigrants, HIV/AIDS and the Homeless communities. Diversity and inclusion are a strong passion for me, and I work hard to advocate for various communities. I am an advocate for LGBTQIA+, women's issues and look forward to working with individuals, and couples from various backgrounds.

One afternoon I told my wife that after another tour, I would be leaving the U.S. Coast Guard for a very different career. Serving my country and the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard is one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life. After serving nine years I knew that directly assisting and serving people is the life-giving work of my heart. I became a Social Worker and therapist because it is my greatest joy and pleasure to support you as you unify all your strengths and gifts to release your Faith, Hope, and Love into society.

Clients come to me in trying times for help dealing with issues like depression, anxiety, grief issues, and anger issues. I don't see myself as the "expert" who is going to provide all the "answers" but I do promise to walk with my clients as they address the issues we identify together that they want to address in therapy. I am comfortable working with clients individuals, couples and families, and kids (age 9 to adults). I have been theologically trained and can explore spiritual issues and crises as a pastoral counselor, also.

My heart is to serve anyone that walks through my door. I hope to create a safe, trusting place for you to know you can share your struggles in an authentic and raw, and productive space. My heart is to serve you in a holistic way and I desire to give equal attention to the past, present, and future. I tend to lean towards a cognitive behavioral approach with a lot of grace thrown in. I desire to sit in the mess with you but then empower and equip you with the skills and coping mechanisms to climb your way out.

They may be facing some anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, addictions, and/or trauma symptoms and trying to heal from the inside out. I also work with adults, families, and couples.

I work with clients who have a wide range of concerns from depression & anxiety, to relationship issues & life changes, parenting problems, career challenges, and ADHD. I specialize in working with males of all ages, especially ages 13-40. The issues I typically address are anger-acting out-not following rules, anxiety, relationship problems, gender issues, GBTQ issues, and sexual performance issues. With teens and young adults, I often focus on being responsible, positive and negative consequences of behavior, learning how to manage stress, developing healthy relationships, and charting a path forward. I also work with male abuse survivors of all ages, addressing many of the issues listed above as well as boundary issues and developing a healthier sense of self.

I help youth and families communicate better and enjoy time together more. If you are experiencing relationship difficulties or struggling with the effects of stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, or grief, I would be honored to support you. I am especially passionate about counseling diverse families while they navigate life transitions, identity development, and learning or social-emotional concerns. As a former teacher with eight years of experience in public schools, I am also skilled at supporting students and parents as they work to meet their educational goals.

Many of my clients come to counseling wanting to work through struggles, strengthen relationships, or process painful experiences. As a counselor, I strive to respond to the unique needs of my clients with genuineness, respect, and support.
