Hello! I am so glad you are here. I am passionate about my work with kiddos and adolescents struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and PTSD. I also work with clients experiencing self-esteem issues, aggression, family conflict, and life transitions. I have experience working with kids and adolescents in schools, at home, and in an inpatient setting. Adolescence can be a scary and stressful time for the individual and their support system. I strive to be a supportive and empathetic guide as we face areas for change and growth.

As a therapist, my focus is on building and nurturing connections – whether it's working with couples striving to strengthen their relationships, supporting individuals on their path to recovery from addiction, or helping those seeking to deepen their faith. My goal is not only to guide clients towards sobriety or relationship stability but to empower them to rediscover true happiness and fulfillment in their lives. I believe that true healing comes from understanding oneself, and I am committed to offering both insight and practical skills that clients can incorporate into their daily lives.

Finding a nonjudgmental therapist who values your insight into your own life can be a challenge. I wish for my clients to know that I respect their expertise on their own lives and am honored to be allowed in during a time that may feel vulnerable and uncertain. I take a holistic approach, acknowledging that personal challenges are not often the result of one simple problem.

I have had good success with working with the resolution of depression and anxiety with clients for over 35 years. I work with people who are trying to improve their marriage or reluctantly must decide another direction. Sometimes men are ambivalent about trusting therapy. While the national norm is that therapist caseloads are 70/30 % women more than men, my norm is an even split between men and women. Men do find they can make headway on stubborn relational or emotional issues. I also see adolescent boys as they make their transition into young manhood.

Our therapeutic experience will be a more interactive one. Whether you want to chat about current stressors, or have made the decision to work seriously on long-term goals for personal improvement in your emotional life, we will work together to determine where best to begin. In addition to working with clients around traditional counseling concerns such as depression, grief, loss, anxiety, stress, and addiction, I also focus on other challenges clients face.

Have you ever avoided emotions because they’re uncomfortable? Have you ever had to face consequences for choices you made to survive? Do you feel like you’re repeatedly making poor decisions and you’re not sure why? Humans don’t like discomfort, and without training ourselves to deal with discomfort - we will do anything to get out of it. We will work on building self-confidence and trust in yourself. Having confidence to say no, feel emotions, connect your mind and body, find your purpose and be able to heal and break free from trauma. We will spend time learning, regulating, and connecting our emotions to FEEL. DEAL. and HEAL.

A colleague once told me that sometimes you just have to validate your client by saying "life sucks". Hi, welcome, I am happy you are here! I have been working in the field of mental health for over 20 years. My experience includes a variety of work settings, including community mental health, school guidance, contract mental health and private practice. Along with my psychiatric facility dog RUPP, I use an integrated, person-centered approach to therapy that first establishes therapeutic rapport to determine goals and objectives.

So you finally made the decision to start looking for a therapist! It can feel a little intimidating to start this journey, but you've taken the first step and I'm proud of you. Initially, many of my clients begin therapy feeling like things in their life just aren't quite right or they aren't where they'd like to be mentally. I'm here to help you explore those issues and make a plan for how to deal with them and become the person you want to be. It can be confusing and distressing to delve into the heart of the matter, but through therapy we can work through it together to reach your goals.

Hi, I'm Julia! I am passionate about working with individuals navigating substance use issues, disordered eating and body image concerns, and people who are currently dating or looking to re-enter the dating scene. I am particularly passionate about working with those who struggle with alcohol use. I acknowledge the shame that addiction can bring and believe that everyone deserves to recover from the damage it causes physically, socially, and emotionally.
