Frustrated efforts to resolve relationship issues often cause people to call for a consultation.
I have had good success with working with the resolution of depression and anxiety with clients for over 35 years. I work with people who are trying to improve their marriage or reluctantly must decide another direction. Sometimes men are ambivalent about trusting therapy. While the national norm is that therapist caseloads are 70/30 % women more than men, my norm is an even split between men and women. Men do find they can make headway on stubborn relational or emotional issues. I also see adolescent boys as they make their transition into young manhood.

I work with women, couples, teens and children struggling with life transitions, relationship/family issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and stress management by using evidenced based models with a conversational approach.
Hi! I’m Caitlin. I am a strong believer that we are who we are because of our relationships, environment and experiences. I enjoy helping people make connections and gain insight into themselves to overcome life’s challenges. The clients I work with often start in a place where they feel stuck, misunderstood, or alone in solving their problems. I help them by breaking things down into small, manageable steps that ultimately empowers them to make change through self-love and intentional action.

I believe in the inherent ability of a person to heal and make changes that will help establish a full and meaningful life experience. It is often the messages we learn subtly and hold onto, about what our experiences mean, about ourselves and the world around us, that inhibit this natural process of self acceptance and positive growth. As part of the therapeutic relationship, my hope is to provide a supportive space, and a sense of unconditional positive regard, for one to explore the conflicts that keep us "stuck" today.

My goal as a therapist is to inspire hope and change by providing a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental environment to build a therapeutic relationship that allows for courageous “self-study”.
Life can become overwhelming sometimes, and it is often hard to know where to turn or what steps to take to help find balance. My goal is to create a safe environment where we can partner and collaborate in order to address life’s stressors and challenges head on! I strongly believe that my clients are the experts on their own lives and my job is to help them get where they want to go. I am excited to work with young adults and adolescents experiencing issues including but not limited to: substance use, trauma, mood & personality disorders, life changes, sports & performance anxiety, and body image/disordered eating.

Whether it be in couples counseling, addiction, transitions, faith, and/or working with people of color I find that connection is what helps us thrive through each of these situations.
As a therapist, my focus is on building and nurturing connections – whether it's working with couples striving to strengthen their relationships, supporting individuals on their path to recovery from addiction, or helping those seeking to deepen their faith. My goal is not only to guide clients towards sobriety or relationship stability but to empower them to rediscover true happiness and fulfillment in their lives. I believe that true healing comes from understanding oneself, and I am committed to offering both insight and practical skills that clients can incorporate into their daily lives.

Couples counseling is a unique area of clinical competency that I have specialized-in for twenty years, with a supportive stance that assists partners in finding common ground in trying times.
My approach to the collaborative effort of psychotherapy is influenced by structural/strategic family systems theory, informing the process of joining with clients to clarify their roles in relationship, family, and community. Creative engagement in experiential learning assists individuals, couples, and families in gaining a fresh perspective through focused work that brings lasting results. I endeavor, in every client relationship, to de-mystify the daunting prospect of change, empowering personal choice in difficult circumstances through guided self-exploration.

Frequently couples say that they do not know their partner.
Kevin Bacon was once asked, “What makes your marriage last?” He didn’t miss a beat: “Clean fighting and dirty sex.” He has a point. The way a couple fights truly impacts their health and their relationship. There are additional influences that create disharmony between two people. Loss of connection, loneliness and conflict avoidance are all precursors to infidelity. I work with couples in crisis from the recent discovery of betrayal and/or past addictions and other relationship struggles. Healing won’t be easy, but it is possible. It’s a painful journey that will take time. I work to make that journey easier.
