We all need help sometimes when life gets difficult. I create a caring, therapeutic environment where new strategies can be learned, difficult issues can be addressed, distress can be reduced, and self-worth can grow. Your goal may be to learn more insight into yourself, find new directions for success, or to have difficult feelings improve. Perhaps your child needs support to be successful in school with academics and behavior. Let's work together to reach success and growth!

As a group practice we are honored to provide Mental Health and Substance Abuse Recovery Services with a Christ centered worldview, because it takes Faith and Courage to believe your life can be transformed! The basis of our counseling perspective is a spiritual one and is first mentioned in Leviticus 19:18 of the Bible; it tells us to "love thy neighbor as thy self". This principle is the basis for our counseling perspective. With this frame-work, it is our desire to improve one's Biological, Psychological, Social and Spiritual functioning through partnership, as individuals navigate life's challenges.

My belief is that in order to create and sustain a happy, well-balanced life, we must first define what "happy" looks like, then figure out how to obtain it! This can oftentimes be daunting when experiencing the challenges of mental health, and significant life transitions. I have dedicated my entire career to partnering with individuals and families and meeting them where they are to work on achieving this goal. I regularly use mindfulness skills and always promote a trauma-informed approach to all we work on. Regardless, I work to meet you where you are and utilize appropriate interventions. My focus

Life is a journey - it’s path can be easy to navigate or can have twists and turns that we never expected. Sometimes, we veer off the path altogether and find ourselves lost. I want to help you to get back on your path and become the best version of yourself. I believe that the time people spend outside of therapy is even more important than the time spent in it. I focus on teaching skills that can be utilized in real world settings and help ease distress and improve overall function in life. I will work with you to form concrete, attainable goals and guide you along the path towards achievement.

I believe the best aspect about therapy is the ability to create a meaningful therapeutic relationship with another built on trust and open honesty. Further, clients are able to be their authentic selves during that time without fear of judgment or stigma. A therapist can notice values or beliefs that have not been seen, and challenge one to grow beyond measure. In therapy and the time together, it is the moment when you can work to feel more control of your lives, thoughts, and feelings. It’s the moment where you can give yourself permission to do what is best for you. In therapy it is your time breakout and break through.

People often seek therapy to resolve past experiences and life complexities and the decision to enter therapy may carry feelings of ambivalence and uncertainty. I believe that therapy is most effective when persons are offered an environment that is inviting, attentive, collaborative, affirming, and safe. Subsequently, my goal is to provide a challenging, but non-judgmental and encouraging atmosphere for persons to explore concerns and difficulties as a means of achieving desired change.

Are you, or someone you love, at a crossroads in life? Deciding to contact a therapist is the first step to bringing about the change you desire. I recognize that it takes courage to begin this search, and it is usually the result of emotional pain. I want you to know that there is hope. Your present circumstances do not have to dictate your future. This does not need to become your new normal. Instead, you have the power to overcome your current circumstances. I believe that through a safe and trusting counseling relationship, true healing can begin.

Maybe you are a go getter who has a good life but wants a great life. A person who pours out their time to everyone else but leaves little time for yourself. An individual that looks okay on the outside but is crippled by anxiety and panic on the inside. A millennial who gets on social media and immediately feels like you have to be more or do more to keep up. A perfectionist that worries and overthinks everything, I mean everything. Any of that sound true for you? I get it. Its easy to tie it all together and look perfect on the on the outside but feel far from perfect on the inside. It’s time for a change.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
