I think of therapy as a journey. I see my role as walking along side my client, shedding light on the past, helping make connections between events, thoughts, actions, and feelings. Working collaboratively, we make use of these insights to develop new perspectives on the past and the present. At the end of our time together, I want my client to feel more secure and confident moving forward under their own power, liking who they are and what they have to offer the world.

Are you experiencing a sense of disconnection from yourself and those around you? Do you often prioritize others' needs over your own? Are you questioning why life doesn't feel as fulfilling or joyful as you hoped? In today's uncertain times, many people are grappling with feelings of anxiety and overwhelm, unsure of how to navigate their relationships, careers, and overall well-being. Ignoring your own needs and neglecting self-care can have lasting consequences on your mental and physical health. I believe that achieving a better quality of life shouldn't feel like an uphill battle.

Seasons of life come and go and with each season comes new challenges. Many times, turning the page to the next chapter is difficult. While serving in pastoral ministry for over 10 years, I've had the privilege to witness many individuals and couples turn the page and experience the life that God desires for them. You can be all that God has created you to be and you can experience life abundantly. Sometimes we just need a little help reaching goals and working through situations and circumstances. I want to help you find the abundant life and turn the page to your next chapter.

I have worked with people both personally and professionally for over 20 years. I work best with clients who are committed to their counseling and healing process. It's inevitable - couples will experience challenges in their relationship, and become overwhelmed by them. Like many of my clients, you may find you're emotionally distant, stuck in ongoing arguments, engaging in destructive language, hurt from acts of betrayal, or dealing with patterns of interactions that diminish love, security, and connection. The attempts to "fix it," or re-connect, are at times promising but don't last long. If you've found yourself in this place, struggling to find hope where it once existed, reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating because you're not sure if it will be worth it, or helpful.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
