It is my passion to help people help themselves using a holistic approach to address the whole person. Sometimes we get so caught up in the details of life that we have difficulty seeing the big picture. Counseling can help you get more out of life, help you reach your goals and work through challenges and move forward to create and live the life you desire. Stress, anxiety, phobias, depression and life transitions are just some of the issues that I typically address within my practice.

As a Trauma Specialist, I will take you on a journey of healing using Attachment-Focused EMDR, Brainspotting, and I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, Mind-Body techniques, and Mindfulness to help you heal and feel at peace.
You may have been emotionally, sexually, verbally, physically abused and/or neglected. You may be a survivor of Parental Alienation, another form of abuse; a child or the targeted parent. You want to be healed, not just struggling in life. You want your terrifying panic attacks that no one understands to be gone. You want to stop struggling and live the life you were meant to. You want your relationship with yourself and others to be healthier. Is the abuse/neglect you survived still affecting your life? It doesn't have to anymore. There is hope and healing. PTSD, Complex-PTSD (C-PTSD), Agoraphobia, and panic can be healed forever.

I utilize different techniques to help my clients, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic experiencing (SE), mindfulness, biofeedback, Internal Family Systems (IFS), yoga, and more.
We often feel lost, stuck, and helpless when we struggle to find solutions to our everyday problems. At this point, our problems can become obstacles blocking us from living the best days of our lives. However, psychotherapy can help us overcome these obstacles by teaching us how to cope better with our emotions and thoughts, gain insight into our problems, make impactful changes, communicate effectively, find solutions, and stop engaging in self-sabotaging behaviors.

I am an EMDR Certified + Brainspotting Psychotherapist specializing in trauma, dissociation, and BPD.
Trauma doesn’t often show it's effects immediately or plainly. It is often hidden in patterns of sleepless nights, negative thinking, anxious worry, and feelings of despair and emptiness. It casts a long shadow that begins to de-color every aspect of life. Activities that were previously enjoyed are scheduled less often. You've noticed not only effects but that it has changed who you are. You’ve noticed that the way you feel about the world & others is very different. The thoughts you have about yourself are no better. And every part of life is categorized by whether it happened “before”. “Before the accident, before the bullying".

I am EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) trained, a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the emotional distress that results from those experiences.
You’re struggling. Your relationships feel complicated. There are parts of life that feel stuck. Maybe you know there are ways you could start moving in a direction that feels better, but you can’t see the path or take the steps. Maybe you don’t even know what those steps might look like. The change you’re craving is possible! Together, we’ll work to understand you better—the stories you tell yourself, the choices you make, the relationships you love, and the behaviors that are holding you back. We’ll strengthen your connection to yourself and others.

Do you struggle with your relationships? Do you have trouble asking for what you want in relationships and at work? Is it difficult for you to set boundaries and feel okay about it? Are you living the life you desire? If so, you are struggling with relationship issues and possibly relationship trauma symptoms. Developmental trauma (CPTSD) can set deeply entrenched patterns of behavior and beliefs about yourself that are hard to shake. I practice using evidenced-based effective therapies, such as NARM, EMDR 2.0, Psychodrama and CBT.

I use evidenced-based treatment modalities (IFS, AEDP, ACT, EMDR) that help to heal the root cause and create lasting change.
Do you ever feel like it's your own brain that's making life so much harder? Parts of you want to practice self love and grace while other parts of you are self critical and shaming. Maybe you're experiencing unwanted thoughts or traumatic memories that scare you and make you feel out of control. Sometimes our own minds feel unsafe and full of conflict and pain. It is so hard to cope with the challenges of life while managing loud and distressing thoughts and emotions. We feel isolated, anxious, hopeless and ashamed. I want to tell you that you are not alone, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
