I am an experienced therapist versed in multiple treatment modalities helping adults who are experiencing a variety of challenges to include depressive and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and life transition difficulties.

Life can and will be full of challenges and difficulties, but through the process of therapy we can work through your obstacles and toward the life you were made to live. Although the process of change is difficult, it is rarely more difficult than your current suffering.

With my years of experience, I understand the root causes of addiction and substance abuse and the reasons substance use is perpetuated in spite of all logic to the contrary.
If you are dealing with the challenges of alcohol or other substance problems (including gambling)—your own or those of a loved one—you know all-to-well the painful impacts these can bring. I can help. As a licensed psychologist, CEO, and thought leader in the addictions field for more than twenty years, I know the treatment system thoroughly. I provide expert care, clear diagnosis, and collaborate with other treatment entities to ensure the ready availability of any care level needed, including residential. Long-term sobriety and recovery are reasonable expectations, even if you have tried treatment before without success.

Historically, I have worked mostly with adolescents confronting issues with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-esteem, while in an outpatient setting. However, I have also worked with adults ranging from 21-60+ dealing with substance use issues. As a school counselor, I’ve worked with elementary aged children, dealing with a range of issues. I am confident in my ability to serve each of the listed populations. If you or your child have goals to become the best version of yourself, learn to confront ongoing mental health struggles, and desire to learn to live at your best “post”-pandemic, please reach out to me.

My experience ranges from high-risk crisis management and dual diagnosis (mood disorders, substance use, etc) direct treatment to comprehensive assessments and integrative case management.
Are you feeling that life is overwhelming? Do you often struggle with intense, rollercoaster range of emotions? Do you want your life to change, and not sure where to start? Whatever your reason for searching out options for therapy, I am glad that you are here. My approach to therapy is not a "one size fits all" model; but rather an integrative, holistic and clinical evidenced based framework to guide discovery to your authentic self and help provide a better understanding of connection to inner truth, to mind and body, and nurture the process of reinvesting back into you.

The poet Rumi said: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." This is a metaphor for therapy that I am committed to maintaining- an open field that is safe and a reprieve from our stressful conditions. I am credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), which enables me to diagnose and treat mental health issues, addiction and substance use disorders, and dual-diagnosis cases of both mental health and addiction-related matters. I work with clients of all ages 10+.

I also offer support with substance use challenges.
By understanding people's needs and wants, I can create a safe space to allow the flow of thoughts and feelings those have bundled inside. Therapy is more than just talking to someone, it takes work, healing, and time. The concept of therapy can be scary for those who were made to stigmatize it, but by allowing yourself to open up to someone who is unbiased, it can be beneficial in the long run. I have known that I have always wanted to be a therapist ever since I was 12 years old. I was always that friend that cared so much about others and created an empathetic environment.

I am so glad you are looking to start therapy. The searching can be so confusing and frustrating, so I recognize that you are taking a big and emotional step. My name is Lauren and I am passionate about my work with individuals who have a history of trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, mood-disorders, and BPD. I enjoy being able to encourage my clients as they become more aware of their strengths and unique qualities. It's not often we have unconditional support from others which is why counselors often help us navigate our way towards self-acceptance and self-love.
