My practice is committed to inclusivity and respect for all races, cultures, spiritual beliefs, gender identities, and lifestyles. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, so in the first few sessions you may feel like I’m the new kid who sat next to you at the lunch table and asks you a bunch of questions. After that, it’s a continuous give-and-take, and moving at a pace that’s comfortable for you. We will decide on session frequency together, but it’s typically weekly or bi-weekly to start.

Note: (I am currently offering a weekly Mental Health Wellness virtual therapy group. Contact for more info!) Throughout my career I have focused on working with clients from a trauma-informed perspective, helping clients simultaneously work toward the seemingly opposite goals of acceptance of what is and changing what is possible. I prioritize meeting clients where they are, creating a space that enhances their ability to experience and process emotions, and offering skills to create positive change in their lives that are consistent with their own goals and values, all while building a strong therapy relationship.

I emphasize the importance of a strong genuine therapeutic relationship, self-care, and self-compassion. I provide a space where clients can feel safe being authentic and vulnerable. I encourage and support each of my clients to utilize introspection to gain insight into their well-being through evaluating and recognizing your strengths, stuck points, and potential blindspots to begin creating lasting change. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals understand how your trauma impacts your physical and cognitive development, relationships with others, and view of self and others.

Are you isolating from others, judging yourself, putting others’ needs before your own, or feeling a lack of purpose/hope for the future? Feeling stuck, anxious, hopeless, irritable, moody? Do you experience low self-esteem, a loss of interest in activities/people, strained relationships with others, a sense of grief of the old version of yourself? Are you keeping yourself busy so you don’t have to think about the state of your life? Or doing the opposite – can’t getting out of bed because your life is not what you imagined?

Adulting isn’t easy. At times it can be a lonely and difficult journey faced with many challenges. There is no book for getting it right, and many of us feel like we’re just winging it day to day. As a therapist, I have a passion for working with women who often feel unseen and unheard, and school aged children who may be experiencing feelings of anxiousness and/or sadness.

Grief and loss are naturally occurring themes throughout our lives. As we live and love, we will lose and grieve. Grief happens not only with the death of a loved-one but also when passing through other life stages like break-ups and divorces, school or job changes, retirements, empty nesting, life-changing illnesses, and preparing for our own deaths. Ignored grief can re-emerge as depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, and interpersonal difficulties. I am dedicated to assisting people through these times and I enjoy working with individual adults of all ages, at all stages.

Challenges come in all different walks of life, shapes, and sizes. It's the universal one thing everyone must deal with. As a therapist, I try to help my clients develop the skills to be able to deal with whatever challenges they may face with courage, dignity, and the strength to know that eventually they will overcome these challenges. For many these challenges include debilitating depression, intense anxiety, fractured communication skills, trauma, substance abuse, or any combination of those. Although admitting the need and asking for help may be hard, the skills developed in therapy can definitely be worth it.
