Thank you for making the hard first step of looking for a therapist. I hope the information you see here will help you make the best decision for yourself. While I connect with individuals at any age, I specialize in treating children ages four through eighteen. I believe that therapy should be a safe place and children’s voices and concerns are worth hearing. I strive to create a welcoming and non-judgemental space for my clients to learn and grow. The stories of our lives have a tremendous impact on who we are as people, and how we feel. As a narrative-based therapist, it is my privilege to be invited to witness your story and be part of the change that you are seeking. With training in marriage and family therapy comes a unique understanding of how relational experiences, how you grow up, communities, and society as a whole can impact how each person interacts with and understands the world around them. I operate from a neurodivergent affirming and trauma-informed style, and seek to offer a compassionate and understanding atmosphere while inviting you to challenge yourself.

Traditional talk therapy has limited benefits. Insight alone is not sufficient to generate change. Lasting change comes from addressing core beliefs which originate in childhood, and lead to habitual (and generally unconscious) ways of perceiving ourselves and the outside world. Thus 'our lives run us' rather than 'we run our lives'.
Western culture tends to draw us away from ourselves to the outer world of materialism, competition and achievement. Mindfulness helps us to turn inward, attuning with the body, leading to the discovery of core beliefs that impede our ability to make healthy choices.

You matter. You are enough. You deserve to take up space. Read that again. Notice how it feels to read those words. Notice any discomfort. How these words feel true or untrue. This might not yet feel true in your body, but my hope for you in our work together is that you are able to see yourself as I see you now. Worthy. Not by earning it through how much you can achieve or love or care for others. Worthy now. Just as you are.

Accepting New Clients - I believe we all need support, especially as we continue to emerge from a global pandemic. The pressures of life can tend to pile up when we are overwhelmed and cause us to go through the motions. When we are on autopilot it is easy to lose sight of path we want to be on. I would be honored to meet you where you are at on your journey and walk with you along the way. Together we can create actionable steps to achieve your goals and release your burdens to create room for your empowered self.

Welcome, I am glad you are here! Therapy can help everyone, not just those with a "diagnosis." In everyday life, challenges are thrown at us that we can't always work out on our own. I help people process these challenges as they occur. Death of a loved one, relationship issues, work stressors, life transitions, etc - can be upsetting, distracting and decrease overall happiness and quality of life. Evidence has shown that people who have an unbiased, safe space to process these events move through them more quickly, gain clarity, improve productivity and ultimately thrive in their lives.

I believe that one of the most successful outcomes to treatment depends on the therapeutic relationship. This involves the client feeling safe and trusting of the therapist while he/she explores emotional vulnerabilities and painful thought processes. My hope is that you will experience me as someone who actively listens to you and works with you to develop effective problem-solving strategies.
