My counseling practice provides you a confidential, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to talk about your concerns, problems, and emotional pain. I listen with compassion and together we develop a plan to help you gain insight into your issues and to learn effective coping skills. I believe in and am focused on the hope for change and improved quality of life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. I have more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field, 11 of them have been in clinical practice. My formal education has prepared me to counsel individual adolescents, children, adults, groups, and the multicultural population. My approach to counseling is best described as one that is person-centered, strengths based, and family systems oriented. I believe individuals and their family have the ability to recover from adversity and go on to live their best life.

I understand the weight trials can have on one’s shoulders, and you do not have to carry them alone. I have experience working with those who have endured trauma, illness, stress, and the uncertainty life transition can bring. I am devoted to empowering those experiencing anxiety, depression, women’s issues, identity issues, new parenting, communication, and relationship issues. I believe in meeting every client where they are in life and to focus on strengths and abilities. Change and adapting to an identity are part of the growth process throughout life. I enjoy working with people of all ages. I have experience in school counseling for over 20 years, and I have worked in elementary, middle and high schools including an alternative school. I have worked with clients with learning disabilities and gifted. I have worked with children who are on the autism spectrum, and with behavioral problems. I have worked with families who are experiencing changes: divorce, remarriage, blending families, moves, sickness and death, adoption and fostering families. I have also worked with many families who are family care placements who children whose parents can't care for them.

It takes courage to say, "I need counseling" and making the decision to see a therapist can be difficult. Choosing the right therapist is important. I strive to make each client's experience enlightening, comforting and encouraging. As your therapist, you will have the guidance needed to work through difficult circumstances and find peace and understanding in the process. Over the years, I have counseled those with experiences of trauma, family conflict, grief & loss, financial hardships, major life transitions, spiritual crises, and a variety of mental health conditions.
