As a dedicated Multilingual (English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi) Graduate Student Therapist Intern willing to empower diverse individuals, families, spouses, and groups to succeed in mental health, behavioral health, healing, and literacy. My goal as a counseling professional is to promote critical thinking, decision-making, and healthy behavioral choices to help clients succeed in their lives, relationships, academics, and professional careers.

In addition to working with adults and couples, I am skilled at helping youth and teens navigate the increasing peer pressures and stressors related to social media, anxiety, anger/behavior management, trauma experiences, self-harm and substance/vape use and gender identity. I also love to work with adults on issues related to parenting difficult and defiant children, relationships, grief, addiction, trauma, depression and anxiety. My specialty is trauma, especially childhood trauma, and clients that are ready to take the journey of healing are my ideal clients. If you have heard the story of the man that fell into a hole, then you will know what I mean when I say I want to be "Joe" that jumps into the hole with his friend and walks with him on the way out of the hole. Other clients I enjoy helping include children, families, and those needing help figuring out who they are at the core.

With decades of experience working with families in many different life situations, I can help you learn skills to help cope with life stressors. As a national certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral therapist and an EMDR therapist, I am trained in evidenced-based therapies that will help your family work through difficult situations. I also treat adults struggling to adapt after the sudden, traumatic death of a loved one and adults who experience chronic pain.

I believe that every individual is unique. We all come from different backgrounds, and we all do not necessarily have the same diagnoses or issues. Therefore, a counseling approach that is effective for one individual may not be effective for another. As a result, I tend to combine multiple theoretical perspectives such as Experiential, Acceptance and Commitment, Person-centered, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I enjoy working and helping others grow to their full potential. My path has led me to working with veterans, athletes, the incarcerated, and adolescents. I work too in the addiction space, with a particular focus on social media and helping both individuals and families explore the increasing role technology plays in our lives and how we can change our habits to protect ourselves.
