I use CBT, MI, SFBT and Supportive Therapy to assist those presenting for treatment.
My approach to therapy is to assist individuals in accomplishing their goals in this journey we call life. I feel our expectations of others, ourselves and our environment create more stress than we often realize. The good news is we can tame those expectations in order to live a more purposeful life, less driven by stress and greatly assisted by the skills acquired in therapy.

Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected will allow space for you to become more self-aware and more confident in your ability to make the changes you are seeking.
I am eager to help you find your best self. Depression, anxiety, and life challenges can try to steal your happiness, but you have the power within to overcome through goal setting, relaxation techniques, and by building coping skills that can strengthen your resiliency. Sometimes it just takes an unbiased listening ear to provide you with the opportunity to express your feelings and thoughts, creating a safe space for you to process and discover who you are, where you want to go, and how you can get there.

Life is Hard! Hello, my name is Tiffany. I am dual licensed as a LCMHC (licensed clinical mental health counselor) as well as a LCAS (licensed clinical addiction specialist) in the state of NC. I have been working in the mental health field for 8 years working with kids, adults & families. I enjoy working and helping people, I personally believe we all need a non judgmental person in our lives to vent, bounce ideas off of, and just work through the stressors of life with. I primarily use the CBT model but also solution focused therapy in my practice. I believe You are never too far gone, and everyone has the right to enjoy life.

Through the combination of CBT, CBI, MRT and Faith, we are able to effectively identify the approach that best fits the needs of each client.
***WELCOMING NEW CLIENTS*** at Mephibosheth Project Inc. (MPI) we realize that at some point all of us have found ourselves in the midst of some stressful seasons of life. We refer to those rough seasons as "drops." The reality is that each of us have been dropped at some point and each drop can potentially leave us with some scars - be it emotionally, mentally and in some cases even spiritually. Our goal is to provide a holistic approach to the counseling process. Spiritual Psychotherapy helps to give us the strength to continue our journey and ensures that you have someone that is willing to walk along side of you.

As a therapist, my ultimate goal is to create a safe space where everyone I see feels heard, seen, and accepted in order to facilitate real change through a collaborative approach.

I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques to help you address anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and trauma.
“Fake it til you make it” is a saying that many of us are familiar with and a motto that many of us unknowingly live by. Behind every smile is a story of a personal struggle. Have you ever wondered how your life would look if you didn’t have to fake happiness, joy, or contentment? What if you had the tools needed to not only survive but truly enjoy living?

I utilize CBT, DBT, person-centered, and strengths based approaches.
Many of us go through periods in life where things feel heavy and seem uncertain. We are capable of much more than we believe especially when we feel off. Mental health symptoms can alter our perception and understanding of ourselves, others, and the world. I understand that meeting with a stranger to talk about life can feel uncomfortable. I strive to build a welcoming therapeutic space for clients of all ages.

I earned national certification in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT).
First, congratulations on taking the first step toward healing. Recognizing a problem is the first step toward finding solutions. Depression, anxiety, insecurity, fear, doubt and other feelings can weigh you down. These feelings can stem from trauma such as any form of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, infertility, divorce, loss of loved ones, medical problems, and other forms of trauma. You want change and need someone to help. You need a partner that understands and will walk with you on the journey of growth and healing. You have made the first step and you are ready to take the next. How do you get your life back?

Hi! I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress management for children, teens, and adults. I like to utilize a creative approach to therapy to help tailor to you as an individual. I view myself as an eclectic counselor as I like to pull from various theories to best fit your needs. I mostly tend to utilize cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, expressive art therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I chose to become a counselor because I love to witness the growth that others achieve. I have a passion for healing and counseling allows me to be a part of others’ healing journeys almost every day.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?

Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?

It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?

To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?

CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
