Although therapy may not feel courageous, at some point, we all need the presence and compassionate care of someone committed to our healing process. This is my passion. I work with courageous people who choose to move toward wholeness while continuing to live and care for the responsibilities of their lives. A large part of my work is devoted to helping men and women work through traumatic experiences in the present and those remembered from the past.

My approach to counseling is driven by a strength based perspective. I look forward to assisting you through emotional processing by tapping into your personal inner strength of resilience to carry you through this journey which is most often referred to as life itself.

Ideal clients come to me feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the challenges of ADHD. They seek direct communication and practical suggestions, but most importantly, they want to feel better. My approach helps clients explore family dynamics, set healthy boundaries, and develop a kinder self-view. Together, we work on achieving their goals, such as completing tasks and feeling less guilt or shame. I help clients replace self-criticism with self-compassion, empowering them to lead more fulfilling lives.

We are each designed uniquely. Deep down, at the core of our being, we all have a longing for wholeness. The way we experience this basic desire in our day-to-day lives may differ. Maybe it’s a sense of belonging when we experience significance with someone or are accepted. Maybe it is a hollow feeling of disconnection or loneliness, or perhaps it is a compulsion to ease pain in an unhealthy way. Whatever the case, the desire for wholeness is basic to our design and the human experience.

I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families. I specialize in play therapy and solution focused therapy. I look forward to helping you or your child work through the every day struggles and sometimes overwhelming struggles of everyday life. I approach counseling from a holistic perspective and feel the child will benefit more from counseling if the family unit is healthy. This is why I invite the family to be a part of therapy and work to make the family a healthy place for the child/teen to grow and mature.

The first responder community is known for its resilience, but also its hesitation to reach out for help. I have sat next to officers, in their patrol vehicles, for years. I have stood next to them on calls. I have witnessed the steadfast dedication to their community, even when members of the community remain ungrateful.

I am honored to be of service to you. I know that trauma and substance abuse and addiction can wreak havoc in one's life. Many of client's find themselves faced with challenges of having to restart their lives during mental challenges and addiction; some may have to fight to regain custody of their children; many of them have co-occurring mental illness that has lead to substance abuse and/or addiction. For some, addiction comes by way of biological, environmental, and social influences, but from my experience, I have learned that mental illness was present before addiction became a factor. My focus is on helping couples and individuals overcome obstacles from their past or present in a manner that allows them to become successful in life now.
